Re: So What about Multiplayer?

Pretty obvious from the above that FOG:E as designed is simply unsuitable for MP FOG2 adaptation. I think what the MP contingent should be pushing for is a FOG2 product, or other specifically designed chassis to warehouse strategically linked FOG2 tactical battles Unless I’m missing something 500 t...

Division B

devoncop (Jewish revolt) beat Xlegione (Hunnic Sabir) 57% to 30%

Swarms of Jewish skirmishers and some doughty performances from the zealots and even the medium foot swamped the better quality Huns who succumbed with just a couple of turns left.

Thanks to my opponent for a tough fight.

Re: Early Middle Ages: winners post your results here

Division B devoncop (Dailami/Khorasanian allies) beat rbodleyscott (Frankish/Viking allies) 61% to 52% Aided by some wooded and hilly terrain dotted around the map the Dailami ground out the most unlikely win since David lobbed a pebble in Goliath's direction and hoped for the best ! Thanks Richard ...

The game can only be launched by the initiator of the MP game, so that's safe.

Absolutely perfect . Thank you for the clarification.

Re: So What about Multiplayer?

If you are concerned with SP campaign games being able to export battles to FoG 2 then that facility already exists in Empires so you can indeed play those crucial battles out ....just not in MP. I respect your opinion on this but maybe we are just looking for different things in a game. If I want a...

Re: So What about Multiplayer?

The question "why would I buy it when I am still blundering around in Civilisation 5 is a bit like asking " Why would I buy a chess set when I enjoy Monopoly? " To compare the combat systems of FoG Empires and Civilisation 5 in terms of depth and accuracy stretches the definition of the word " compa...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires - Ask Us Anything

A question to the devs re the Multiplayer set up ? Just something that occurred to me....does the originator of the MP game stipulate to the game at the beginning all the nation's involved and the players or do they just open the game with the 48 hour window for players to log into it ? I just wonde...

Division B

devoncop (Arkanians) beat Barrold713 (Corinthian 550) 47% to 12%

Many thanks to my opponent who was disadvantaged in losing a race to some dominating small hills along the front.

Re: Poll on new "Allies" feature

I think that allies should be allowed in all games, as this would make many armies more competitive. However, I feel that they should be accompanied by an allied general who can command only them. This would be a reasonable trade off. Allied troops should certainly not be scattered across the line....

Division B devoncop (Dailami/Khorasanian allies) beat Nijis (Arab Abbasid) 61% to 37% A much needed victory was swung in favour of the Dailami after the initial collapse of their right to sustained archer fire by the arrival of two elephants on the Dailami left which smashed through the Arab lancer ...

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

Rome seems fitting to start. I doubt ill finish my first campaign but mostly to try to quickly figure out the basics and then restart with something like the Irish and see it to the end There is an 8 or 9 turn walkthrough of the first few turns as Rome I believe as a tutorial so that is a good choi...

Division B devoncop (Arkanians) beat Ulysisgrunt (Cypriots) by 62% to 47% in a brutal see sawing contest. devoncop (Jewish Revolt) agreed a 0-0 draw with Cunningcairn (Indian 320AD) as I wasn't coming out of a small forested area and he was equally determined not to come in !

Re: Poll on new "Allies" feature

I think one ally for the whole tournament is the way to do it as is the case now. There is sufficient flexibility already in my view. I have a concern that limiting allies to those different from the main force would be somewhat arbitrary . Yes some players have taken Vikings with Irish Viking allie...

Div B Sennacherib ( Andalusian) defeat Devoncop ( Dailami ) 57 to 32 Thanks for the game ! Re: New game engine.

Hi Until the game is released no one can be sure but beta testers have stated it is pretty challenging. Bear in mind the pretty unique culture and Decadence mechanic means a simple map painting strategy of military expansion pretty much guarantees your country will collapse from within. If you haven...

What are the major differences between this and the older AGEOD game engine IIRC Athena? Thanks for any info. Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

 Doesn't bode well for me. First week of July, I'm gonna study those youtube play series mad hard. My goal is to not crumble from the inside before I'm crumbled from the outside. What will be interesting is to see what nations if any each player is at war with at the beginning of the game........
