Re: Persia

I think that you will find that Russia activates if any Axis unit, including Iraqi partisans, enters Persia. In this case the manual is, to use a technical term, wrong.

Re: How is Vichy France conquered?

Vive la resistance! Indeed. The French fought quite fiercely. In a naval battle the Americans sank a cruiser, six destroyers and some subs. A disabled French battleship fired from dry dock. Allied losses were severe in some local areas. From memory the French suffered about 4,000 casualties before ...

Re: How is Vichy France conquered?

Historically Germany took full control of the mainland France part of Vichy because the Allies had DoWed Vichy and actually invaded the North African part.

A while ago I had an issue which superficially seems similar: It may just be me, but my Slovak Korps seems to be carrying maskirovka to an extreme: http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i445/SimonPPPP/Untitled11-2.png The graphics files are missing for them. I can send you the missing files if you wan...

Re: Possible for 2 german paradrop in London on april 3rd 19

All units 'disappear' when in transport loops. I did, cough, flag this bug up in beta testing for 3.0 When units are in a transportation loop they disappear. Quite apart from the owner forgetting what he has sent – or even that he has sent anything; yes, I have done this – it means that they don’t s...

Re: Turkey

Hmm. I think that you want to try that before you get too excited. It can suck in a lot of Axis units, and it opens up opportunities for the Allies later in the game. And Baku is a long slog over very rough terrain.

Re: Turkey

Invading Turkey is pretty suicidal since Stauffenberg changed the rules to mean that this DoWed Russia. Even before that it was of marginal utility. But it can be done. Eg, see this: http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=37044&p=348761&hilit=ankara#p348761 . Although you need a slice ...

Re: Italian and Finnish surrender

Finland will sign an armistice with Russia if 3+ cities in Finland / Estonia and less than 6 Axis units are present in Finland. So, according to the manual, it doesn't matter how many cities/rail heads you capture (unless one of them is Helsinki) Finland will not surrender so long as there are 6 or...

Free French?

I am playing my first 3.1 as the Allies. I have not invaded French North Africa. When and where can I expect the Free French to show up? It is currently May 1943.
