Re: Repair and Update Units must be together

But that was Monty's choice, not anything inherent in the situation. To stay with just the 8th Army: look at Ritchie's replacement of Cunningham in the middle of Crusader; or Auchinleck's replacement of Ritchie in the midst of the shambolic retreat to Alamein - he spend practically zero time changin...

Re: Repair and Update Units must be together

That has always puzzled me too. One man replaces another and the whole corps goes on holiday for three weeks? I don't think that that actually happened historically. (I an with Stauffenberg with his rationale for upgrading and replacing.)

Try updating your drivers - especially your display adaptors. I had a similar problem with NVIDIA.

" I thought you needed air superiority to do para jumps? On the hex that the para jumped into, the allies had 5 CVs and 2 Fighters that covered the hex and they all were on Combat Air Patrol and the para lands at 9 steps and no Axis Fighters any where around? " The hex where the Para landed was alre...

No units ever lose XP when reinforcing from 7/8/9 steps. (No matter where they are.)

Re: Plaid vs Vokt CEAW GS 3.2 beta AAR

STRATs are already the most expensive air units. I don't think that we need to change their cost. As I said before, if anything needs to be changed, it's their survivability. Yep. It seems to me that they are more effective early on than they were historically, and less vulnerable. Which I suppose ...

Re: Plaid vs Vokt CEAW GS 3.2 beta AAR

For what it's worth I agree with Cybvep. Unescorted Strats do seem to have an unrealistically high survivability. This wasn't so much of an issue with their old ranges, but now . . .

Re: Plaid vs Vokt CEAW GS 3.2 beta AAR

Anyone having historical data about when the Allies were able to escort air raids over the Ruhr with fighter units located in England? I will try to dig something out, but during the 'Battle of the Ruhr', March-July 1943, both the RAF and the USAAF were unescorted. That is, unescorted on the final ...

Re: ARM & MECH & Oil usage

From the vanilla manual:

Infantry Corps and Garrisons use no oil, but all other units use oil every time they move and then again every time they attack.

It is still correct. No oil usage to follow up.

It is Morris who invaded the Netherlands. It is probably safe to assume that he knows what he is doing.
