Sounds interesting, I will have to check it out. I especially like that you included new textures.

Re: Pyrrhos of Epeiros campaign

Sorry for the double post. I've just finished the Mithridate campaign. Although trying the Pontus fighting style is fun at first, when you reach the 7th open battle, you're clearly fed up. The campaign, just like the Pyrrhos one is pretty dull. I really get the feeling the sandbox campaign system, ...

Offensive Spear, obviously. Nothing can resist a 5th century hoplite charge.

Re: First expansion

It's a bit early to expect an expansion, but what period, or equivalent expansion from the original FoG game, would you like? I hope for the equivalent of "Immortal Fire" - 7th century BC ~ 3rd century BC : ancient Greece, Persia, Macedonian, early Carthaginian, etc Immortal Fire, definitely. Then ...

Re: End of an Era

Any plan to bring Systray back? Not that I know of. Drat. It was a really great programme, because sometimes you are both online at the same time and it will really increase the rate at which people take their turns. Also, there are times when I turn on my laptop and if I don't have turns waiting, ...

Re: End of an Era

One thing I hope they add is something to tell me when I have turns waiting for me. I remember there was a simple little programme that you could run while browsing the web, and a message would pop up in the corner when you have a turn to take. Now, I have to run the game, log in, and refresh every...

Re: End of an Era

I remember the old FOG forum and extremely active multiplayer scene. My Seleucid circus army defeated all who dared oppose them. One thing I hope they add is something to tell me when I have turns waiting for me. I remember there was a simple little programme that you could run while browsing the we...

Re: Well up to my expectations

Also, for anyone wondering, FOG II is an awesome game. I played a couple of battles and am having a blast. I only have the following few wishes: Allow the player to zoom in closer Give a gamma option Make the combat log more like the original anyway, please excuse me while I go back and play some mo...

Re: Well up to my expectations

While we could always do with more troop models Late Spartan Pikemen ... I asked about this and was shot down, apparently the devs don't believe in Cleomenes' reforms. Of course we believe in them. They are in the Greek army list of that period. We just don't believe that Spartan pikemen wer...

Re: Composition of the new army lists

I saw there were 3 different Greek army lists, all starting in the 3rd century. Is there a particular army list for King Cleomenes III?

Re: FoG(U) update

There was no such thing as decimating a community. What happened is the normal process of erosion happening to each game/community over a long period of time. GBCE guys know it well. We have very different definitions for the term decimating. As pointed out, people left the community in part becaus...

Re: FoG(U) update

huh? I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the beta build always worked online (the only period in which it wasn't was during the MP communication protocol update and MP gameflow update, but that was over a year ago, or so). Why would that be a disappointment? That's great news, so I can just click the ...

Re: Discussion of release candidate (FOG Returns!)

I thought they did have little red or grey arrows? I'll check again when they actually release it. How much time is involved between finishing the release candidate and it actually going "gold" and being made available for us to play online?

Re: Discussion of release candidate (FOG Returns!)

Thanks, Hecatombaeum was my first and I think only attempt at making a scenario for the game. I thought it was a shame that the game didn't mention such an interesting period in history. The army list for Sparta also doesn't accord with Plutarch and Polybius, so I felt obliged to make a manual scena...

Re: FoG(U) update

Will you be advertising the game again and offering a discount on the base game so that you can attract a new generation of players? Like others have pointed out, the player base has shrunk a lot during the years of neglect.

Okay, but when you're at the top of the game, who will be left to play with you? I would hate to be stuck with the AI after stomping everyone into the ground...
