Re: Provincial capital won't move to region of the highest culture output

I confirm I've seen the same issue playing sparta and forming Macedon province. The province capital formed in the wrong region with lower output, and even after disassembling the governor's building, it formed in a third region with even lower culture output! Didn't report it cuz was lazy...

Slaves go to a random region with a slave market within 10 regions of the battle according to the manual.

Re: Civil Wars and endless usurpers

If you check Rome's history as an empire then you'll know you're actually experiencing few civil wars!

Re: Defensive structures and civil war/rebellions

Just yesterday night I had a civil war with rome where 2 usurpers spawned in south italy and carthage areas respectively. I can confirm that the usurpers get a chunk of a few regions from your empire around the area that has troublesome loyalty and keep all buildings inside. They also spawn with an ...

Re: Palace Guards are too powerful

I think walls are not dismountable. Also not sure how dismounting them would help apart from increasing the frontiege a bit (if you'd like that for defence).

Re: Palace Guards are too powerful

Oh that would make sense then. Didn't know such situation can happen. It seems possible that a region can have garrison but no walls and then your army would immediately combat the garrison. What I don't understand is why would they be defeating you if you outnumber them on a plain and given that ga...

Re: A question about trading

My understanding is also that getting a resource from internal trading nets more benefit than getting it produced in the same province. Noone seems to have disputed this so far.

Re: Palace Guards are too powerful

The palace guards are a garison unit as far as I understand. They cannot be outside the castle when you enter. Are you sure you are not looking at an enemy army instead? I am not aware of a recruitable unit called "palace guard".

Re: Population Unrest Decrease??

The unrest cannot be decreased through buildings or some other way that's in control of the player. I know there's a decision that permanently increases the unrest of populations, so maybe there's one that decreases it?

Re: Palace Guards are too powerful

If you are trying to storm a castle with 3+ unbreached walls, then of course you will lose. Instead of attacking every turn, besiege the fortress with a big army with lots of "sieger" trait units (medium infantry). Over time, this will both reduce the guards' efficiency plus reduce the wall values m...

Re: What to do with poor regions?

Don't forget to move population around to focus on infrastructure. I usually move almost all pops to infrastructure upon conquest to allow to build up. If a region is 6-7-8 population for example, but only has 1-2 buildings, you don't really need to produce any more food than just the bare minimum t...

Re: CDR Question(s)

On the region viewer (where you see all the buildings and pops and such), one of the circles in the top left is the value of the accrued decadence. Hovering over it brings up a tooltip advising of decadence gain and loss, and the text mentions that it all decreases by one tenth per turn! I too was ...

Edit: thanks for maki...

CDR Question(s)

On CDR, I've re-read the manual many times, but wanted to see if my understanding is correct: Your country's culture PER TURN is compared to TOTAL Decadence from start to calculate the CDR of your country? I.e. CDR = culture (per turn) / decadence (total). This would explain why my citizens producin...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires is out

Amazing game! One of the best (historical) turn-based strategies I've played recently (probably even the best if I think about it). I spent all Friday afternoon/evening reading the 220 page manual and playing the game all weekend. Gameplay and AI are times better than any of the recently Civilizatio...

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

I think a balance needs to be struck, like a hit to your loyalty or legacy or something every time you give up a region. I really like the difficulty in maintaining an empire in this game, and one of the best parts is getting stuck in a war with someone you can defeat and then being straddled with ...

It's alive!

So happy to see the game moving forward with some exciting new content. I guess it's too early to announce what that will be probably pending beta player feedback?

Best of luck with the beta test!

Re: Order of Battle: World War II - v7.1.8 is available

Major code changes always lead to new issues but is important to keep track with technology! As much as everyone loved Windows XP, it'd be pretty bad if we still used it.
