I think there should be a handicap system based on the army chosen, to encourage a wider choice of army types and make battles a little fairer. Players used to talk about "A", "B" or "C" class armies and it would be possible to classify them that way. Then, if you have A vs A: no change, terrain is ...

Isn't it the case that tracks don't cause any terrain disadvantages but don't count as open terrain so cavalry in particular don't get their usual advantages for charging in open terrain if they cross a track?

That's another thing I miss - used to be guaranteed that javelinmen would beat slingers if they caught them. Charging javelinmen at other lights used to be a good idea. If you want an easy battle, try Romans vs any foot army that doesn't have impact foot or pikes.

Skirmishers are not over powered in this game. Their usefulness has progressively been eroded ever since the rules were introduced. For instance, a light foot unit can't charge a fragmented heavy foot unit in the open, they can't charge a heavy foot unit from the rear, they can't shoot from the rear...

Another possibility is that if there's a storm a proportion of your landing craft get damaged or destroyed, and only troops in transport ships can stay at sea, but maybe that already happens? I would also like to see reconnaissance aircraft included - perhaps aircraft could have a dual role like AA ...

I would like to see Ports made more useful - at the moment it seems to make no difference if you land at a port or on a beach. Landing at a port could perhaps allow your unit to move on the same turn it landed. Also ports should be able to handle ships and land units in the same space like land and ...

What's the effect of being awarded a medal?

Sorry, new to the game, so what is the effect of being awarded an iron cross, apart from story telling and making you want to avoid getting that unit killed? I think I would rather have a movement bonus or something like that, as sometimes awarded to hero units.

Haven't played that scenario yet but I used to live there, the station is in the centre of town and every train going west from London goes through there; it's also the junction for trains travelling north and south from that region.
