Yeah, I've just given up playing for now, just monitoring the forums to see when it's all up and running again.

Re: From Maurya to Alaric: winners post your results here

Division A SnuggleBunnies (Kushan) defeats ianiow (Indo-Skythians) 60-56 A very close match - I achieved 60% on the very last turn, through the luck of evasion and pursuit! It easily could have been a draw. For the first half of the battle, ianiow led the way, at one point being 15-0 in his favor. H...

Re: From Maurya to Alaric: winners post your results here

Division A SnuggleBunnies (Jewish) defeats klayeckles (Nabataeans) 53-24 GG. My Jewish army settled for a completely guileless head on charge down the center. klayeckles engaged in some subtle maneuvering, withdrawing his center and enveloping my army on both sides. However, broken ground and enclos...

Re: War for Europe and the Near East Campaign

Hmmm... apologies, but I would like to withdraw. Between attacking anywhere and anytime, I'm afraid it's just not to my taste.

I also am curious as to why this is implemented this way, it can lead to some very weird situations.

Re: ECW Parliamentarian horse

Cavaliers are impact mounted, so they only get their +100 in open terrain; thus hiding your shooty cavalry behind hedges, in streams etc. gives them a slightly better chance of survival. For later Parliament horse, the veterans Impact on even terms, the regulars do not. So again, you have to play a ...

Re: Sengoku Jidai tournament 2018 - Round Two

We'll see more fallbacks as opposed to pushbacks in fog2 once we're in medieval, with most infantry being defensive spear.

I do think, all debates here aside, that something like 80 or 90 percent of players do SP almost exclusively.

Re: 2018 Tournament

I also agree that Large is not ideal. I usually play Medium, and, while that has occasional edge riding, it's not nearly as frequent. I suppose we could play with Medium armies on Large maps, but that seems unnecessary.

Re: Any chance for real new gameplay features (not just new units) in the future ?

Yes, for scenarios I would not be opposed, though of course I don't know how much work it would be to implement. As to the weather - we've both read a lot, I'm sure, and I think it's fair to say that far more than 3/4 of open field battles took place in non severe weather. Supply - it's not necessar...

SnuggleBunnies (Ikki) defeats ahuyton (Uesugi) 15-43 SnuggleBunnies (Ikki) defeats LFDLM (Uesugi) 26-55 Good Games. Yari Hatamoto are also determined foot. So they are the only Heavy Foot in SotS. This comes with upsides and downsides. Upside, they have slightly better cohesion rolls in open terrain...

Re: Any chance for real new gameplay features (not just new units) in the future ?

With all respect, Pete, I have to say that I am very skeptical of most of your suggestions, at least for random map games. Weather - these options would be nice for scripting into scenarios, but in reality, armies usually avoided fighting in severe weather conditions. The vast majority of battles se...
