Re: Le Roi Soleil - Results

Box2:

SnuggleBunnies French 8%
Ulysisgrunt Imperial 44%

An unbalanced matchup, I think. Ulysisgrunt, I didn't quite catch what years the army lists covered; maybe you did? If not, I wrote down the unit types we were each using, and I can go through the skirmish lists and figure it out.

Re: Le Roi Soleil - Challenges

Well shawkhan, any bad match ups you get, you get to play the reverse to make up for it. So at least there's that consolation.

Re: TYW INsurrection Event - Results Thread

SnuggleBunnies (IMP) (German Catholic): 5% Bloodphoenix (Anti-IMP) (Swedish): 44% The infantry battle was still in the balance, but both Swedish cavalry wings were caving in by the time the battle ended. I think I would have eventually overcome the Swedish foot, but, with their attached light guns, ...

Re: Didorder - 3 set types or a matter of degree?

Not everybody in mp notices that they are determined foot, so luring them onto rough ground then slaughtering them is quite satisfying.

Re: Didorder - 3 set types or a matter of degree?

I assume it could also be implemented in SotS, but I can't actually think of any units that would be changed; the Chinese mixed foot use light spear, and I think the heavy weapon component of the Korean mixed foot is medium foot, too.

Re: Didorder - 3 set types or a matter of degree?

Did some testing in game, here are the results. Any mixed foot do indeed have the same level of disorder. So, a unit of Late Pike and Shot with 20% pikemen in a 500 man unit suffer from the same disorder in a forest as a 2000 man Tercio unit which includes 1000 pikemen. On the other hand, medium foo...

Re: TYW INsurrection Event - Results Thread

SnuggleBunnies (Imp) (German Catholic): 46% Rexhurley (Anti-Imp) (Swedish): 61% Although the imperialists were technically defending a fortification, virtually none of the fighting involved the defenses. Instead, on the left flank, cavalry from the two sides became bogged down in an indecisive melee...

Didorder - 3 set types or a matter of degree?

As stated in subject line. Best illustrated by an example: would a unit of medium foot musketeers be any less disordered in a forest than a unit of pike and shot? Both are listed as moderately disordered, but you would think the latter unit would suffer more. Is there no difference, or is it slight ...

Re: TYW INsurrection Event - Results Thread

Maybe it's obvious, but what is the meaning of the two numbers in the results posts?

And yes, I have always found fighting Transylvanians with later tercios be frustrating. Particularly when I lose of course.

Level of complexity vs BA2

How much depth is there to this game compared to Battle Academy 2? I found myself wishing for a little more complexity from that title, but found it very addicting nonetheless. Is Sanctus Reach comparable?

Re: TYW Themed Event - The Insurrection

Maybe next time we shouldn't do attack scenarios. Reading the most recent battle report in the results thread, and looking at the two attack scenarios I'm playing atm, it seems we all march around the walls and flank the fortifications. The walls work against the AI, but i suspect we're about to see...

Re: Wokou Pirates

I have beaten Wokou in MP before, but it's always a nailbiter, never a +25% win. Cavalry is key, and cheap light artillery is helpful too. They also have trouble dealing with skirmishers, as they lack horse. But, if you roll Ming vs Wokou on a map with difficult cav terrain, you're pretty much total...
