I hate to ask smart people a dumb question, but here goes:

If I need marble to build something, and that marble is not available within three regions' distance, am I out of luck - or do I just pay top dollar for marble from another empire producing it?

I am playing a multiplayer hotseat (four countries I control) with FoW off. A couple of times I (believe) I have seen armies as large as 77 that I move thru my territory (say Macedonia) via land to attack, and when my turn comes up again, they are like strength 16. No big deal, just wanted to check ...

There's an option before game start to cut the chances by 50%. I assume you did not check that box.

Not sure, but the hotseat trick makes the game for me - at least initially. I can play a group of barbarians to learn the game, and the challenge isn't lessened one bit. Whereas playing one Barbarian tribe would be suicide. You can do a lot of mixing and matching with this set-up. Thanks!

You can change the number of men by editing the Squads.csv in the Field of GloryII/Data folder. Of course make a backup, and also the dev does not recommend changing the original files. There is another way but I don't know it off-hand.

Easiest way to change deploy points is to use CheatEngine.

In your description, "Gods" should be lower-case, please. There is only one God. Nice addition to a great game, though.

Let's just say you did well at 40% off. I bought AFGAN and NAM at full price, but there is no longer a need to do this. Just wait. Same with $10 DLC. For me, I've already supported Matrix by buying almost all its games, almost all of them at full price. The advantage of a Steam purchase is you can get a refund with less than two hours play time or several days, which to me is a significant bonus - just in case. I think I will like this game eithe...

One thing I've found, which may be of minor value to modders. The game doesn't like stray files/folders in the data directories. For example, I put a folder "backups" in there and the game wouldn't start. Put it somewhere else and my modded files work fine.

Subforum is a good idea.
