Re: Emergency Supply and Airstrike cost

Has this been fixed? I didn't see any mention of it in the post that lists patch changes.

I haven't played in a while, and I'm sorry to hear that this still hasn't been addressed.

Future DLC's

Everyone, myself included, is looking forward to a DLC that will include UK and (hopefully) Canadian troops. If that DLC ever sees the light of day, there is another DLC that could follow it that would be a screamingly obvious couter-point to the current game: the Soviet-Afghan war from 1979-89. The...

Re: Emergency Supply and Airstrike cost

It needs to get more expensive because air assets are being shared with many different theaters at once.

Emergency Supply and Airstrike cost

The cost for these two start at 200 PP and should get progressively more expensive for every new use. Unfortunately, the cost counter resets itself every time you exit and save (haven't tested this in the Beta). So if you tend to only play one turn per sitting, Emergency Supply and Airstrikes will a...

Re: Fuel, Food, and Ambushes

When you're designing a board wargame, you often have to throw a lot of realism out the window because adding a couple more routines will sink the system. I happen to like a lot of the optional rules for House Divided, but when they're in force the game ceases to be the clean design that makes it so...

Fuel, Food, and Ambushes

There are three game mechanics that I am not entirely comfortable with because they feel a bit gamey. It's possible that they don't work the way I think they do, or that they're bugs, or that I'm simply wrong about what's happening. FUEL: Fuel consumption for ground vehicles should be tied to moveme...

Waypoints

I'm having trouble controlling the path units follow when they move their full movement allowance. Unless I'm missing something, you can only control the exact movement path if you move the unit a little bit at a time. What I was looking for (and which doesn't seem to be there) is some kind of waypo...

Re: Mods ?

To put this in perspective, I don't have a problem with buying a game that doesn't look right as long as I can fix it myself.

I don't really like modding things, but I insist on being able to do it if the visual scheme doesn't pass the historicity test.

Will it be possible to put historical insignia on the tails of German planes?

How about noseart on the bombers?

And different camo patterns?

Re: Source of the quote used in the release announcement

Kratero got changed into Kratisto by the propagandists. Craterus was leading the last replacement army from Macendon to Babylon, and he was best suited to speak for/represent the Macedonian electorate that wouldn't be able to show up in Babylon. Macedonian 'elections' were supposed to be the entire ...

Re: Source of the quote used in the release announcement

I'm pretty sure it's bogus, and I doubt that there is a credible ancient source for it. I note with great amusement that a Google search always turns up the same wording, which suggests that the ultimate source is in English, rather than a Greek text that gets translated several different ways. Inte...

Re: Florence: tips on things to see?

Hi folks, I'm off to Florence for a week next Monday, and I was wondering if there are any 'must see' things from a military perspective? There's an interesting looking museum called the Stibbert, which seems to have a big selection of arms and armour - http://en.firenze.waf.it/museo_dett/29-other-...

Re: Hotkeys

I don't care about hotkeys that much, but I don't like being forced to look at hexgrids all of the time (some of the time you need them). But to be able to turn the grid on and off in the middle of a turn you don't want to have to go poking around in a menu, so you need a hotkey. I also don't like t...

Is there a list of hotkeys for this game?

I want to be able to turn the hexgrid off and back on again when needed.

Re: Battle of Ligny scenario.

I love the Pike and Shot engine for what it's supposed to do, and what it's supposed to do is mirror 16th and 17th century warfare. When you get outside of that period you start having problems, like artillery that doesn't limber. While I applaud those who've made the more experimental mods for thei...

Re: Any Scenarios on Constantinople 1453 ?

The final assault would be pointless, because it was clear to everyone on both sides what was about to happen (which is why the Emperor took off his rank insignia and fought in the breach). But one of the earlier assaults which proved to be a hopeless failure for the Ottomans might lend itself to so...

Re: Any Scenarios on Constantinople 1453 ?

There are a couple of critical aspects of that particular siege that the engine doesn't model: naval warfare and mining. You could in theory construct scenarios covering individual assaults on the Theodosian Walls, but to get the real flavor of the siege you need mechanics for mining and counter-min...

Re: An upgrade question

Yes to both questions. The scenarios work for the campaign and non-campaign versions. Multiplayer works in both versions. What I don't know is what would happen if someone with P&S Vanilla tried multiplayer with someone with P&S Campaigns. I'm sure RBS will clarify that point when he sees th...

Re: BA 2 Historical Flag mod

The last parts of the mod have fallen in place, and it's up to version 1.3c.

I've ported a few flags from the BA1 mod to BA2's editor, and added back in a few textures that got left out of the original game.
