You cant do that, orders are in units xml, adding order to device will not add that order to unit, or most likley will show you the error on the game start.
Developers would need to add such option to device class, or ability to compile your own dll.

Thers something wrong at line 197 it expect = somwhere around that area. It dont means it needs =, thers might other typo error that make it think that way. Just look on line 196,197 and 198 for typos:) String is resposible mostly for text type so like in your case the stuff on faction you do now is...

Try <pollution add="-2"/>, its only a theory thrugh :)

Workaroud would be making advncemtn and giving it to that faction on the start, from my early try at modding, i seen that advencment got the most shared fuctions working.

I found the solution. For example, you want to generate tropical world. You should edit Tropical.xml: latitudePeak="0.0" latitudeRange="1.0" Now the tropical ecoregions will be from equator to the poles. I only had few games with them, but they are very weak, its preety easy to wipe them out even with end tier of first era. On one of the game i was playing pangea and i didnt even seen messari since ai did wipe them out so fast. Messari in defence act like aliens and just leave the portals unguarded ...

Yes in that sense Ai is cheating they got various bonuses, but then again ai got only few hundret lines of code and you got a brain so who is cheating :D

Portals could get charges, if they charge up they could then spawn 10-20 units at the time, reducing charge to 0 and then starting the coundown again. All of this while their normal operation of spawning units is working

They seem to be hardcoded if i remmber right, but you can try a work around giving all factions - to production and research
For former you would need to change individual tasks in former.xml

Portal dont destroy features under it, so if it lands on fungus, units stationed in portall will recive damage.

But it wont help since the custom format, you cant even preview them with.

Since ruins can provide you with gold/research/promotions, it helps alot at start but its not worth to loose units so its better to get them back before alien agression. If you can establish city on a realtivley good food ground, just build habitats around it,this will lead colonist from overcrowded...
