Re: Opponents expanding into my territory
This happened to me yesterday. It was still early in the game and Noxium decides to put a city past me (on the other side of me from where he is). That position he picked was super annoying for my plans and it wasn't all that advantageous to him. He was one of my closest friends in the game and I ha...

Re: Error While Running Dual Instances
I kept getting this error and so did my friends. Since they were getting it as well, I figured that it had nothing to do with dual instances. Plus, I was getting it even when I ran a single instance. Eventually, I had the idea to launch the game in EoN mode to download all the content (even though I...

Multiplayer Experimentation
Out of curiosity, I hosted a multiplayer game and loaded. But I changed directories and picked a single player saved game. A friend jumped in the game taking the place of a previously-AI faction. All I did was switch the Player field from AI to Open in the host window. Everything mostly worked. Dipl...

Re: Error While Running Dual Instances
I'll try that and get back to you. --- So I'm guessing the AppData path is hardcoded in the software? with no way to edit? It would be nice to customize something like this: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Proxy Studios\Pandora\ C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Proxy Studios\PandoraSecondInstance\ Su...

Re: Error While Running Dual Instances
Both instances were started using "Pandora First Contact Release" I also find it difficult to duplicate the error. I've seen it a couple times recently, but I cannot pinpoint what situation causes it. But I can say that the situation about not being able to load games always happens. If on...

Error While Running Dual Instances
(during experimentation) While running two separate instances of the game I get this error... then the game is forced to close. Is there something I need to change to prevent this from happening? error.png Additional Information: -Each instance is installed in completely separate locations and diffe...

Recenter the Minimap
Something that has bothered me on every single Pangea-shape game is the minimap. Sure, I might be a little OCD, but I think it would be a nice feature to be able to refocus the map. Obviously you wouldn't want to do this on turn 1, but later on it would be nice once you can see more. Maybe right-cli...

Re: Easily Fixable Multiplayer Nuisances
I recognize that these are things that probably aren't dealbreakers for the average joe. I just wanted to throw them out there to make sure that they at least got a mention because I feel like they wouldn't be too hard to implement.

Re: Pause Updater/Launcher
Haha. sorry. I thought StephiRok was simply mentioning the esc button feature in a sarcastic way. I see now.
Thanks for planning it for the future! It's the little things.

Re: Messari Bonus
I really like the idea of the invasion being potentially devastating. Obviously this could break the game if it was overly frustrating. The idea I suggest would be to introduce a new unit device that is discovered once a Messari unit is defeated. It would provide a heavy defensive bonus against inva...

Re: Pause Updater/Launcher
Thanks, but this isn't working for me. I have the latest version and it's installed on Windows 8... I don't know if that helps or not.SephiRok wrote:Hitting escape to prevent the game from starting sounds like a good idea.

True, but not possible inside the host window... nor is it very flexible.Zak0r wrote:In MP you can change your faction if you change your name to the name assigned to it.

Easily Fixable Multiplayer Nuisances
I really love multiplayer. It's really the only way I play anymore. Here are my recent 3 thoughts: (I didn't add this to the sticky because that thread is all about people coordinating new games) I played a good game with my brother and a friend. We had to stop at about the beginning of the Transcen...

Pause Updater/Launcher
Does anyone remember the keystroke that pauses the launcher/updater window so that you can change the game type (release/beta)? Mine checks for the update then launches so fast. I could have sworn there was a way to prevent the game from launching right away by pressing a certain key. I just searche...

Re: Population continues to decrease after defeat of faction
I wholeheartedly support the changes with growth. But it does need some balancing for sure. There still needs to be an incentive to capture, but the vanilla release strategy of early conquest was insanely and dramatically OP.

Your issue is probably not Win8-related. I can also say that I've never had any problems.

Re: City Growth
I remember pointing this out long before the growth changes occurred: that hi difficulty AI becomes a whole new beast entirely.
Unless this is just a bug... in that case just pretend I never said anything.

Re: Forbid y-axis wrap please
Here is a nice explanation of how the y-wrapping can indeed still represent a sphere: http://slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=173&t=46526#p439107 I don't claim that this explanation trumps the torus in any way, it's just food for thought. This also shows that this discussion dates way back t...

My Narcissistic Moment
I just had to point out that during the heated debate over the advantages and disadvantages of Steam (that thread stayed alive for months and months until it got locked up by the devs), I stayed out of the debate except for this one thing I said back in November: (underlines added) I've only observe...

I love Linux too! I just found out that I'll be using Linux at my new job. I'm pretty excited. I know it's hardly related to this thread but... I had to say it.
