Re: A Fresh Look
After taking a closer look, the issue with SF losing all of their MP's when going into OP mode, I've discovered it is not just when being forced to exit OP mode through having only 1 or 0 rations left. No, it's always. This is illogical, because the SF squad should still have 2 MP's left, which whic...

Re: A Fresh Look
Two more suggestions, maybe three, because all good things are... six... seven ?... The Apache looks to be an AH-64D Longbow, which means it has ground radar. It should have excellent detection within its main armament (AGM-114's aka Hellfire) range of 5. The Apache has 20 MP's, but as soon as it ha...

Re: Slitherine Forum should be HTTPS
It's not just an issue with WiFi, but public WiFi is one of the easiest ways to snoop. But unencoded communications -- HTTP instead of HTTPS --- is like having a really crappy lock on your front door. Anyone who has a little know-how can break into your home and steal anything laying about. Using HT...

A Fresh Look
I hadn't touched A11 for about a year, and since I recently had nothing pressing on the table I thought I might take another look. I found a couple of bugs. One I think is known, that if you grind the game without quit after completing a turn, things can start to get wonky. I noticed a few time, so ...

Re: Slitherine Forum should be HTTPS
no idea tbh, office is back open tomorrow and will ask, but normally on web sites, it's not needed as long as the payment part is secure, which it is I'm sorry, but this IS AN ISSUE. It's a major security issue for every person using this site. It's not a question of someone reading PM's or such. I...

Re: Beautiful game, but a bit too easy
Okay, I wasn't aware the Intel report listed units which had not yet been detected. You are right. Visiting a village with a smoke signal really only makes sense if you have the resources to act on the intel, if received. It's really kind of gamey that often the intel received is from some location ...

Re: Beautiful game, but a bit too easy
I believe Intel only reports Militia when they start the turn within your detection radius (near HQ Base, FOB, or infantry/SF, and within UAV search area) plus some random reports, or sometimes when your infantry enters a cooperative village when the signal is set. It would be a great stroke of luck...

Request for Improvement - FOB Planning and Building
This is a big request, actually several related request, but I think they would make the game easier to play and more enjoyable, and make it a bit more idiot-proof for players like me  ... 1. When you have a Buffalo selected and click the build FOB button, the locations where you may bu...

Request for Improvement - Intel Map
The Intel Map shows enemy units, if known, and trails where they had been seen, if they are not currently known. But it doesn't display discovered IED's nor booby-traps. It would be really nice if it displayed these. Maybe it's just me, but when selecting the Eye Icon in the Intel Card at the bottom...

Special Forces Going on Observation Post
Every time when I have an SF in the mountains in OP mode, when they get near empty on supplies and when they are on 0 supplies, they come out of OP mode. When I select them, it says they have 5 AP's, and that going back on OP will cost 3 AP's. But when I click OP they use all 5 AP's. Happens every t...

Re: MI-8 Swallowed by Maintenance Yard
I'm on 1.1.3 since today. I've put a bunch of vehicles (helos and MRAP's) in the Maint.Yard for repairs and just to do a quick full refuel, and I haven't had an issue yet

Re: Afghanistan '11 - 1.1.3 Public Beta is available
Not yet release on Steam.
Is there a way to use this patch with Steam? If yes, how?
EDIT: just figured it out. I'm already on Beta in Steam for A11, just no beta patch yet.
EDIT2: Okay, I've got the beta

Re: Beautiful game, but a bit too easy
I'm going to revive this thread because, either the game has changed so much since this thread was opened, or I just don't get the game. Specifically, I don't get what DieterNohlen is saying in his second post. I understand the words, but my experience is something completely different. I've started...

Re: about convoy and supply trucks
I just started playing A11 again, from before there were Convoys. From before Convoys, I would build FOB's at the minimum distance between them, 12 hexes, and was easily able to send a loaded truck, even over dirt roads, from one FOB to the next, so that they were never exposed to attack from being ...

MI-8 Swallowed by Maintenance Yard
I landed an MI-8 in the Maintenance Yard of an FOB and on the next turn, instead of finding it in the main FOB tent it was simply gone. The HQ still displayed that I had 3 MI-8's built. After I lost an MI-8 to Taliban SA Missiles, HQ said I still had 2, and after re-building 1 with an ANA Special Fo...

Re: First impressions ... Afghanistan '11: Logistics tycoon
Actually, this level of logistical detail is extremely simple and generic. Any FOB with a supply has every type of ammunition and fuel, and a full set replacement parts and every maintenance team necessary to maintain every vehicle in the game at all times, and all you had to was put a supply in the...

Re: WAD? Debarking Infantry, Do Something Without Moving Fir
Well, when unloading from vehicles, infantry always does have to leave the vehicle hex, sooo..... isn't that moving off the vehicle hex?
I guess we'll just have to disagree on this
