Re: Natcon 2018

Is there still a deadline for when the lists will be completed and be available then for the community to use?

Re: NZ NatCon - Easter 2018

Thanks for that Andrew - I always find your observations insightful. Not having opponents down this way means I get a lot out of the battle reports.

Re: NZ NatCon - Easter 2018

thanks for that , it gives an idea how your army went against the usual suspects. Which Guards army did you prefer, that one or the 1813/14 one from last year? This one seems to have had a lot more draws in it.

Re: Australian Championships at Cancon, Canberra, January 20

Last time I looked we ended up with an odd number - any idea Tyler whether we managed to even it up?

Re: Australian Championships at Cancon, Canberra, January 20

Tyler are there many local players in this competition - why I ask is whether there is any potential of not having to bring some items of scenery in my baggage.

Re: Australian Championships at Cancon, Canberra, January 20

Thanks, I will arrange to change my registration then with the organisers. I had seen some advice from other competitions that regos should be in as soon as possible because there is a finite limit to the total numbers that can be accommodated.

Re: Australian Championships at Cancon, Canberra, January 20

Is there likely to be anymore than those currently registed on the Cancon 2105 site? I ask because I am currently registered for a different competition with only a few players and I am considering changing but i don't want to do that if I would be changing to a comp with even less players?

Re: Test to advance

That is why I said you have to be careful with the interpretation of enemy and forward. The enemy can be anywhere including behind you. If you take it from a position of forwards relates to the long base edge and the enemy LOC it might be more workable.

Re: Test to advance

Well the definition in the rulebook needs to change then because it is very clear. "Advance: Any move which results in at least part of the unit ending further forwards than the original front edge and facing." Forwards isn't defined however you would open even more interpretation issues i...

Re: Scenarios??

For tournament scenarios I see no reason why a lot of the principles of FOW scenarios can't be applied. Objectives in FOW may very easily be replaced with LOC's in most scenarios, as the effect of losing your LOC is so serious it is almost game over as a consequence or soon will be. Note that LOC's ...

Re: Keeping FOG N growing

How do you think equal points armies might work for scenarios in tournaments? One of the attractions of scenarios is asymmetrical forces but with objectives matched to force size. Might the scoring in a tournament operate like a kind of " handicap"? Smaller force more points scored? The s...

Re: Keeping FOG N growing

Personally I am mostly a tournament player. My particular viewpoint is from having only a rudimentary knowledge of the rules before I played tournaments (2 now). Also I have extensively played tournaments for FOW and it was this that attracted me to FOW. The possibility of a tournament ruleset for N...
