Nope, not trolling, apologies if it seems like so. I do agree that Knights had an edge vs multi-functional polearms, proper knights that is - not mtd in general.

Why did they bring in billmen & halberdiers during the hundred years war if they were so worse off against mounted than the spearmen they already had ? Which would you choose, in game terms, to face off knights - HF, Protected, Poor, Defensive Spear or HF, Heavily Arrmoured, Superior, Heavy Wea...

Well several types of "HW" are in fact weapons with several functions, including a spear-function. For example the halbred. They had/could have (depending on shaft length etc) the same functionality as other weapons included in the spears category when used to thrust. There is no reason be...

Hey fair enough ... my imagination roams sort of the same way ... although I think Elephants in the wild tend to avoid buildings and prefer trampling smaller items ... they are pretty smart. My gut feel is they should be a 6 loke toher mounted rather than a 5 but willingto be convinced if anyone ha...

I must warn you about Outposts minis in that range. I found them very dissapointing. At least order a sample first.

re 1: its usually better to deploy LF in double line to reduce frontage and get more die on the target infront. LF shoot from second line aswell (but counts range from front base). The 8 LF Bow could have been deployed in 4 by 2 and get 4 dice to tagets infront of them, much simpler to target BGs fo...

Firstly thanks for a great, helpful, tool!! A note though: Have some trubles with BGs of 6HF+3LF. They show correct for the HF. But its a bit annoying that there is an error message on the LF. Did you give the LF the same order of march number on their line as the HF? That is how the macros identif...

Re ink: use a tiny amount soap (swab the wet brush over a hard soap) or similar to break surface tension on the ink aswell. Re primer: have used GW:s for ages. Some cans are better than others - if you consistantly get bad results with one try to get it replaced by the shop. I do short bursts at a p...

Another nail in the similation coffin im affraid :(

I think that perhaps troops facing a BGs rear should be able to add a VMD to their impact move - they can if persuing routers and charging evaders, why should they not if facing the rear of a retreating BG?

Re: flank march

Fulgrum, Thanks for the comments. I agree that this may be a boring game, but it is part of an ongoing pan-europe campaign we are running, so not losing is not a bad thing as it preserves my army. that said, i am trying to find a way to "beat" him since I can take his provinces if i do. I...

I find superior legionaries in BG:s of 8 to much. And i also think fours are to small. I field mine in a comp (800pts) a while ago like this: 1x6 Armoured superior 1x6 Protected superior (will probably go for armoured next time, theese ware tailored to fight Knights which makes armoured wasted point...
