Re: The Baron plays OOB - Campaign 2 - Rising Sun

This game is being kept pretty well under wraps since there's very little information about it on the site and off-site references.Probably
turn-based since it has core units and has been in the works while. stealth is cool. With all the site redirects it will stay nice and stealthy.

Re: Missing supply wagons, also navy supply is problematic

landing and unloading and embarking and disembarking plus guessing supply mechanics orders is enough of a bother that it drags down the game. If there is a good video done on naval and combined operations please point me to it.

fixable? Re: False Allies

I'm currently playing ten PBEM games of FOGE, some of which I have been really enjoying. However, in three of these games, I have been opportunistically attacked by allies, and this has spoiled my fun. For no apparent reason, these alliances were broken and I was attacked (when I was committed else...

Good to hear there may be more AGEOD elements. On bribing, there may be too much or too little gold in some reaches of the known world. game and could get out of hand.

Re: Inquiry for a Job as Translator

In past years I did considerable volunteer work on testing, copy editing and related proofing work for love of the games and of clear and complete manuals and tooltip support. Small publishers have strong financial constraints and trade offs to manage in development, so if your goal is to help as a ...

Re: Intent & Best Practices for Naval Transport/Escort/Supply

Yes correct. Transported land units pay with their own effectiveness the lack of supply, and don't provide supply to landed troops. You need real warships for that.[/] Rome took the region of Illyricum ussing a fleet of built and captured warships. The fleet remained offshore to assure continued su...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires has been updated to version 1.0.3

The most useful is categorized unit count Heavy/Medium/Light with an estimated strength based on quality of intelligence. However, strength and total unit count alone could be appropriate when full intel is lacking.

Re: Intent & Best Practices for Naval Transport/Escort/Supply

This below is my collection of info and searching questions @pocus for use in making a guide (preferably by someone with extensive naval experience in game. NAVAL SUPPLY: 6.5.3. Naval Resupply Ships (=> what counts as a naval resupply ship and what does not?) (=> do transports carry supply for thems...

Re: Unwanted Regions

You are right about the approach, but some ideas are not worth the resulting time, trouble in game development, and effects on the players and their expectations. Paradox can afford bloat and disconnects but a small development house needs to keep focus on a clean and playable result. Having an arra...

Intent & Best Practices for Naval Transport/Escort/Supply

We could use a short guide to joint operations and naval and amphibious operations. These include escort and raiding as represented in the game and what orders and automatic behaviors behaviors the ships follow.

Re: Leaders

Selection of field commanders up into the 20th century has been based primarily on status and with competence a bonus (but not so much as to threatenthe state). My Rome has produced a few with total score of 3 at best.

How are we intended to use the turn log and what does each log button do?

For me, reading reports of distant lands is interesting but focusing on those with which I have some connection is an advisable practice. Not everyone studies ancient provincial geography closely and we might all benefit from visual cues as to proximity and general location. The main thing is unders...

Client States are friendly realms with good relations that are also tributaries. I think you are suggesting forced satellite or puppet relationships as the price of peace in a war. I'd wager that was considered but tabled as adding unnecessary complexity to warfare, diplomacy, legacy and decadence e...

Just in the last few days while trying to do my turn in FOG2 both in Empires battle and multiplayer, the screen blanks and my PC goes to HDMI energy saver mode requiring I a reset to get the PC working. I don;'t recall the terminology for these events. What is odd is that the din of battle sounds co...

A Question and Answer Thread

QUESTION 1 How to invade amphibiously? The manual says " Combining Land and Naval Units Note that you can build a stack that combines both types. This will ensure the warships escort your army and protect them in the case of naval combat (10.7.7). Obviously such a stack is limited in only being...
