Re: Air units in PC2

Some of the tools at disposal would be to make AI redistribute fire across several units instead of always mass attacking the weakest one. I think it would be nice to have a switch for the AI to choose between maximum brutality and efficiency or long term campaign sportsmanship. In the latter mode,...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

I have taken a little bit more time against Tobruk. I use the 88 and the Panzer III to ambush the british reinforcements (the Mathildas), which the Italians attack the hex on the south, between the pillboxes, when you are backed by artillery the pillboxes are pretty harmless. The defenders reduce th...

Re: Air units in PC2

- With new slot system, you might be choosing between buying a single top-end plane, or two inferior ones. So, it is a less obvious choice than in Panzer Corps. Although weaker planes will be more vulnerable, they can attack 2x more targets in a single turn, launch mass attacks on the enemy etc. - ...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

I think you may only need a repaired Kriegsmarine in case you go for Operation Sealion in 42 or 43... That´s what I am trying now. April 1942: London has fallen. It only diverted about 20 ground units ... and ALL air units. Still, I have no trouble to keep the channel free of the Royal Navy. london...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

My strategy is as follows, I've kept it consistent over the years and found that this is the most successful strategy: 1. Immediately surrounding Tobruk. Bring in the Italian air reinforcements from near Malta and start pounding away at the Allies with artillery, air, and coordinated attacks. Romme...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

This mod has become my official "Ill-at-home" occupation ... and this flu season gave me the opportunity to finally beat the Barbarossa scenario on Realistic/General setting. What a great mod ! Even after a few tries, it still manages to surprise. I decided to abandon Africa as soon as possible and ...

Re: Replacement 'equipment' file anyone?

If you really need to fall in love with AA guns in AT role, then play Africa Korps with only Italian units, the so called Graciano mode. There, the 90mm AA gun is the only possible way to crack British infantry tanks. Perhaps you try different tactics - like backing the 88s up with artillery. Italia...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #5

Now the dev diary gets really interesting ... Major and minor victories The faster you achieve successes on the battlefield (be it capturing flags, killing enemy units or forcing them to surrender), the more prestige you will earn for these achievements. And the final reward when finishing the missi...

I didn't play GC East, but only I played Afrika Korps.
For my experience- its good enought ballanced: attack and defence.
Yes, there is a good mix of offensive and defensive scenarios - and a couple of unusual ones, like in Afrika Corps.

Re: Soviet Corps Campain

It is absolutely playable and as balanced as any of the campaigns. It plays somewhat different, you should always study the victory conditions very carefully. It is defintely not more difficult.

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

I have just finished Battlefield:Europe on medium difficulty level and General level. What a great mod. It was the first mod I have ever installed for PC and it was totally worth it. This is a great map, and a great scenario. Your work on the unit set is astounding. In some cases I was a bit puzzele...

Re: Future dev diaries

Learning more about units would be nice, especially once the graphics are ready.

Until then, what about the UI ? Are there any important changes about how I get my Panzers to do what I want ?

5) Give the possiblity to put notes within the game to remind you later. Never thought of this one, but it sounds like a useful idea. Can you elaborate a bit more - how do you imagine it to work? Oh, how I miss that, too. When playing several games, over a long time, I tend to forget whatever strat...

I guess this might be pretty complicated, but I just thought about players on the same side fighting against the AI, but still competing for best performace, like Brits and Americans both trying to defeat the Axis, but still competing for re...

sn0wball vs yoky The game is decided, the winner is yoky ! He won with the Axis on turn 21 and with the Allies on turn 23 (with my Germans on the defense, hanging out in Kiew). It was one of the most exciting games I fought in this tournament. As the Axis I started agressively and very confident, th...

Re: AI improvement

I like the suggestions for making the AI less foolhardy. Also, as I have suggested in that linked thread, I would love to see an element of randomness. Advancing more carefull will certainly benefit the AI, but being predictively careful will still see it exploited each and every time. Perhaps the A...
