Re: xbox Game Issues

Normally at this point, I would give up and go back to knitting. In this case I did persevere, however, and have got a solution of sorts. When my xbox fires up, it logs me in to xbox live - this is the usual - and I get on with a game. In the case of LoW, this does not happen - as I said, the game t...

Re: xbox Game Issues

Thanks for the reply. No change I'm afraid. It isn't an account issue. I have the latest update installed and my internet connection is stable - everything else works as it should.

Ready to give up now!

xbox Game Issues

Just bought the game. However there appear to be issues which may need resolution before I can get into it. 1 - A warning box at the beginning advises that I am not signed in and that progress will not be saved. I am signed in to xbox live - should I be signed in to something else? 2 - I see that co...

Still think this is just not right. Whichever way I look at it, the figures do not reflect the combat results in the turns. If I see the reports as Germany has dealt 36 planes and lost 53 then that would imply that in terms of manpower, Germany has dealt 40 and lost 2.7k which would be totally wrong...

Thanks. Now I'm really confused. When I select GB and Losses dealt and taken I assume the figure on the left of the slash represents the no. of losses I as GB have dealt to Germany and to the right of the slash the no. of losses I have taken from Germany. These are the figures from two cols. - Men d...

Air Combat Losses

I'm a little confused on the reporting situation. To explain, I'm playing against Axis AI as GB only. It's June 1940 and France is in a bad way. To date I've used the RAF only sparingly - its main role to be defense against possible Sealion. The only RAF air activity so far has been interception and...

The Air War - Spies

Human GB v. Axis AI. The Axis has been carrying out regular bombing of Newcastle with some success. I therefore stationed a fighter group there and immediately the bombing runs stopped. Subsequently I rebased that fighter group to East Anglia and on the next turn, the bombing began again. Question i...

ahh.. Looks like the fleet was convoy hunting. OK but surely the AI should not be able to concentrate all of its pockets battleships with cruisers and subs and send them on such a suicide mission so close to GB without any air cover. Even if it does this, should not there be some sort of mechanism ...

Thanks guys. Recon identified only the one German fleet. Throughout the action, the British lost just the one plane. I'm talking about game turn 10 - there was no operation the German fleet could be covering in the south North Sea, although in the midst of the carnage, they did manage to destroy a c...

After a dose of the real world, I've got back to this particular game. The naval battle I mentioned above spread over four turns; despite facing the overwhelming might of the Royal Navy, the German battle fleet remained on station to be pounded by land and ship-based aircraft, subs and surface fire....

Naval Query 2

Very early stages of a game [T 10] and I've intercepted a large German battle fleet in South North Sea consisting, amongst others, of all its remaining pocket battleships and some subs. I've no idea why the AI would want to concentrate this number of ships in one place. Anyway I was able to concentr...

Naval Queryt

Couple of points I'd like clarified. As GB I have fleets and Task Groups out at sea. The longer they remain at sea, the more health they lose. Is the rate of health loss noted anywhere or, in other words, how long should fleets stay at sea before they are brought back to port? Also when back in port...

"BUT now I am really mad guys; I am playing grand campaign as Germany and on 1-June-1940 USSR declare war on me without any reason. Didn’t do anything on east except conquered Poland. I even accepted Hitler-Stalin pact. You don’t have classical WWII grand strategy restriction that USSR can NOT ...

Now that's a bit confusing. According to the manual I have, a country surrenders when it loses all victory points it owns ... within its own borders. Maybe this could be clarified.

Umm that didn't work too well. The font for sea zones is now excellent. Unfortunately all of the other text - names of cities etc is the same size which clutters up the map. Is there a way to isolate just sea zones for change? Also whilst I'm at it - can I mod anything to prevent convoys from Brit c...

Another Convoy Query

I'm trying hard to get a grip on the convoy process it being particularly important for GB. This time I have GB Colonies as AI controlled. Looking at the various reports it seems that convoys have been at sea, some have landed OK and one has suffered losses from Axis naval action. (Game turn 2) Look...
