Re: Problem installing Legions Triumphant
For installing any of the expansions, you only need to have the base game installed (Field of Glory) and updated with the last patch (1.8.1). The patch is embedded with all the expansions. Once the update is installed please do the following: 1. Double click the Field of Glory game icon (launcher) ...

Re: Problem installing Legions Triumphant
Thank you, Alex, and sorry for the delay answering: Didn't notice your reply until today.
I'm going to try your solution.
It's a pity the lack of support, cause the old Field of Glory has still its charm!

Problem installing Legions Triumphant
I'm trying to reinstall Field of Glory original (not the Unity version) on a new computer.
The Legions Triumphant file I download in MY PAGE from Slitherine or Matrix games sites always gives me a "Launcher error - Failed to read setup engine".
Any fix for this, please?

Re: Odenthus has passed away.
Very sorry to read of this sad news.
Besides having all his scenarios, I wrote to him last year asking for permission to use his Mantinea terrain from FOG2 to do another battle. Mark was very kind and we wrote in two or more occasions.
My condolences, he will be missed.

Re: Impetuosity Check
I too miss that aspect from FoG 1, to be honest. It made me shout "@#$%&!" so many times (but in a good sense).
But I think that the chance was too high. If I recall correctly it happened on every battle so you could always count on it.

Re: Buff for heavy weapons ?
Just to clarify, I quoted the Courtrai Wikipedia article as an answer to the last paragraph of TheGrayMouser, and only because I remembered this old question in History Stack Exchange: Were there any battles in Continental Europe that were decided by “peasants with pitchforks?” Far from my intention...

Re: Tides of Conquest campaign tool - recruiting for ongoing Year 500 campaign
GrayMouser is actually playing in the 500 CE campaign. If you want to try multiplayer but can't install the app, I can have the AI do your moves (or you can give me a general idea via email) and then let you know the battles to fight. I post screenshots so you can follow your empire's progress. Oh,...

Re: Tides of Conquest campaign tool - recruiting for ongoing Year 500 campaign
I have a 32 bit system so cannot use the program, so the program acts as the emperor telling me whom to fight. It s nice to be a simple general sometimes, laying blame on my lost battles at the feet of someone else ;) Sadly with my current Windows XP I cannot even install this wonderful campaign to...

Re: Buff for heavy weapons ?
As snuggles pointed out , individually pole weapons could be fearsome weapons versus a lone mounted knight, or in rough going, but I can’t think of any battles where pole armed troops in homogeneous units repelled knights in the open. The Swiss ditched the halberd once they began operating out of m...

Re: Tides of Conquest campaign tool - recruiting for ongoing Year 500 campaign
Is there any chance to run this campaign tool in .Net 4.0.3 instead of 4.5, for single player?

Re: Scenarios in Progress
I'm very interested in your side project. I have the Diadochoi Wars game from the HPS Ancient Warfare series and of these three battles you have made, only Crannon is present. I myself I'm working in Mantinea 418 BC: Sparta vs. Argos (plus allies for both sides), but I'm a bit busy with real life wo...

Re: Any Pharsalus (48 BC) scenario in the works?
Indeed, there are still lots of missing classic battles, but I find this one the most glaring omission. And let me tell you: your guides are awesome and most helpful, thanks to them I have started working on my own scenarios. Thank you! :D My current aim though is to add some Peloponnesian War battl...

Any Pharsalus (48 BC) scenario in the works?
Wondering why there's no Pharsalus scenario in FOG2, and if there's one in the works. We already have the whole set of classic battles of antiquity: Marathon, Plataea, Gaugamela, Cannae, Zama, Chalons... Maybe Leuctra is missing but we've got Mantinea instead. So why no Pharsalus? Is there something...

Re: Scenario creation guide part 4 (AI Teams and Orders)
I got a small problem with AI_SimpleTeamAdvanceOrders . In my scenario there's a light infantry unit in a team of heavies, and while the heavies only move one square as intended, the light infantry moves three. Other teams, made 100% of heavies, work great . I've added the aggression flag 2 in TeamA...

Re: Scenario creation guide part 4 (AI Teams and Orders)
There is a script function: AI_SimpleTeamAdvanceOrders(team, enemy_team, MaxAP, ignoreLights) which tells the team to advance towards the specified enemy team, keeping move distances down to MaxAP until the enemy are within 6 squares, after which they will move at normal speed. If ignoreLights is s...

Re: Early Antiquity?
Will there be a new expansion soon? It has been some time since the last one (October I think). We are working on it. Rather more new models are needed for the next DLC than were needed for either of the last two. Well, that's a nice clue. Speculation about the next DLC is going strong on the FOG2 ...
