Re: A (Hopefully Not) Brief History of Iberii

Our armies met the wretched Saguntum wretches in honourable battle and vanquished them. Our lands grow! However (There it is again!), Lusitania declared war on us. A two-front predicament! Oh, the gods are cruel in how they toss us our fates! The army, hoping the Saguntumians (or whatever they call ...

Re: A (Hopefully Not) Brief History of Iberii

Year 6 Since the Founding of the Empire Having studied his whole life, training both in physical deeds and mental tactics, our great hero General Endovelicos managed to catch a spear point first in his second battle. Two regions were captured at the time of his death, both to the west of our l...

Re: A (Hopefully Not) Brief History of Iberii

Vabalatos begins a building campaign in the settlements of our land. Baecula, the capital, will focus on military buildings and be the centre of our massive smarmy swarms of soldiers. It begins with an Archery building. Tagus quickly builds Clear Water, then begins a massive Farms development. Oreta...

A (Hopefully Not) Brief History of Iberii

In our dusty, quiet corner of the Iberian peninsula, we have heard rumours of mighty nations fighting one another for supremacy. Our wise leader has decided, along with his council, to begin a similar march (literally + figuratively) to glory. I, with my humble scribblings, hope future generations w...

Re: Tools, Tools, My Kingdom for...

I have the smiths etc.. I never thought about natural source of metals. Actually have had master blacksmiths pop up in a few places.

Re: Tools, Tools, My Kingdom for...

For sure!

It's not like the bonuses are needed. I'd noticed that many of my regions were missing stuff from the Far East and such, but then there was tools and I thought, hey, I can make tools.

Tools, Tools, My Kingdom for...

Well I've made it as Lusitania. Top of the legacy at turn 160. In the top 10 of the CDR for the last century. A golden age for the last Idoneknowhowmanytimesthetokensjustkeepcoming! Am sure I can last to the end like this and win over Rome and the Brigantes. But... I have yet, anywhere, between the ...

Re: Population Unrest Decrease??

Thanks, Pocus! I'll look for it. Although this time through as Lusitania: -I just nabbed 4 regions, made my initial province, and didn't expand from there for a long time. It made a world of difference. I made it to the top tier of CDR! And, I was careful to not continue fighting, so I had almost no...

Re: Population Unrest Decrease??

Thanks for the reply! I'd been through that section, but reading it again, it's clear that no, you can't change it. (Unless your own, maybe, and your pop. dropped?)

Population Unrest Decrease??

I have slaves with unrest 8, citizens with unrest 5, and down to 2.

Does this change as the game progresses? Does that citizen go from 2 to 3 to eventually 6?

Can this somehow be decreased, or once at 6 always at 6?

Re: Moving Slaves?

k...thanks for the reply!!

I'm up around turn 50 or so but just had built the first slave market. I'll look to build one earlier (I've avoided them because of decadence) in my initial regions.

Moving Slaves?

I have a Slave Market built in a region. When I go to my national screen (clicking on the symbol at the top of the map), and go into national traits, it says there I can buy and sell slaves. I've gone through something like 10 turns (on Balanced), but I have yet to see any decision in the decisions ...

Re: Buildings Strategy??

I tried Lusitania. Interesting in that the home region is forests. (I actually built that Master Hunter!)

I concentrated food production in the coastal plain to the south and it worked very well. Upgraded farm and the well that increases production. It could definitely grind out food!

Rivers??

Do rivers cost extra mp? I moved an army across a river into an independent region. Another nation also moved into it the same turn. They took the region and I bounced back to my original location. Why? Because I was slower moving?

Buildings Strategy??

So, do I want some buildings of each type in each region? Or do I want to focus on food in plains, infrastructure in hills, military in regional capitals? Should each region not have 2-3 food producing buildings? Do I care if I have 3 ranches all in adjacent regions? I've gone through the buildings ...

Re: Loyalty Increase??

For example: Tagus, one of the original 4 regions. Population consists of 22: 3 slaves (6-8 unrest) + 12 citizens (3-5 unrest) + 3 citizens (6 unrest) + 4 citizens (2 unrest). Loyalty Base Region = 80 -96 from pop + 7 structure + 20 welfare = Final 11. What caused this over time? How do you counter ...

Re: Loyalty Increase??

I have read the manual. It may be that this olde brain isn't clear on all of it still. Have read through it more than once. We can't all be instant geniuses on the game.

Yes, there are lots of slaves. I'll check that.

Loyalty Increase??

Is there any other ways to increase loyalty besides a few of the purple buildings? I tried stationing troops in city and in region but it only changed 'chance to revolt' I think. The CDR thing is really kinda ruining this game for me. I've conquered all of the Spanish peninsula, usually waiting unti...

Take Region Now or Wait Until Objective??

Playing Iberia, Carthage declares war on me. I conquer the two regions it controls in Spain easily. But should I have waited until my leader declares one or more of them an objective? Am I missing out on a progress token because of my early capture?
