Re: The Latest Multiplayer Login Problems
This appears to be a sever problem. Hi Knights -- I just made a test connecting GtC, both via direct and lobby connections, and it seems to be working correctly. Are you still seeing the connection issue? If so, do you get an error of any sort? When you offer to host/join the other player from the ...

No, that's not something that can be changed in the data files. Sorry.

Re: Bootcamp not enabled
Hi okiemcquire,
The bootcamp button should be enabled when you have 'Play As Allies' selected. Playing as Allies should be the default setting when the game is installed. Bootcamp is only playable from the Allied side.

If you have a router, also check that the router is forwarding port 1944 to the machine you are playing CC on.

Re: 128mb Graphics Card
Hope someone can offer some advice. Just bought a new laptop - i7 chip, 520 Intel mobile graphics card and 8mb ram. But the graphics card only has 128mb ram not the suggest 256mb for this game. What will happen if I try and run Panthers in the Fog? Thanks. The game itself will not prevent you from ...

Hi archita,
There are no plans to offer the older releases (Cross of Iron through Last Stand Arnhem) on Steam at this time, but I will pass your request along.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Multiplayer still crashes
To clarify, I posted a list of possible troubleshooting steps. None of these are 'necessary' to play the game multi-player in most cases. It's not a list of 'try all these at once' but rather a list of things to try one at a time and check the results, in an attempt to narrow down the source of the ...

Re: Multiplayer still crashes
Hi Steve and all it might concern, My problem is recently we tried to give Caen a second chance we thought that now, a game that's been on the market for almost two years must be fully up and running, all issues fixed with patches and updates. We sadly still have the issue that the game is extremel...

Re: More 21 units in CC:GtC ???
The game can't be modded to increase the number of teams you can have in a battle, no. While this is something that we can consider changing for future versions, there is a point where you end up with too many units to effectively control in real time. Also, a note on map sizes: the pixel scale of t...

Re: Map scroll speed issues, unplayable
This is a not a general problem with Gateway to Caen -- the scrolling should be fine regardless of your processing power. I suspect it might be something to do with your mouse sensitivity settings. You could try adjusting these to see if they effect the issue, and you can also go into the game optio...

Re: "Unknown command failed. Uknown error" !
Glad to hear that it is working now, and thank you for letting me know. I will make a note to keep an eye out for other issues like this related to Windows 10, but we haven't had other reports that I know of.

Re: "Unknown command failed. Uknown error" !
Pzt_Kami, Did you clear the registry key as I described? If that's the case and you're still getting 'unknown error' then the only other data being exchanged with the lobby at that point is your user name and password. You might try creating an entirely new forum account at www.slitherine.com and us...

Re: zoom
In the game options you can turn on soldier outlines, which both gives info about each soldier and makes them much easier to see. The unit icons also show where a unit is, and you can click on them to select the unit.

Re: "Unknown command failed. Uknown error" !
It could be an issue with the way Steam handles serial numbers. If you're familiar with using RegEdit to modify the Windows registry, you could use it to delete the existing serial number. If you wish to do this, go into 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matrix Games\Close Combat Gateway to Caen\' and del...

Re: "Unknown command failed. Uknown error" !
The only other bit of data being transferred at that point is the game serial number. Are you using a Steam version of the game, or a non-Steam version? If non-Steam, you can re-install to make sure you have the correct serial number set everywhere in the registry and such.

Re: "Unknown command failed. Uknown error" !
Hi Pzt_Kami, I just verified that the multi-player lobby itself is working properly by connecting to it. I would double check: 1) That you have the most recent version of the game. You can download it from Matrix Games via the link in this forum thread: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=379...

Re: Game crash with bootcamp scenarios
Hi boudi, Have you modified the game files or installed modified game files for Gateway to Caen? This can cause the game to crash. Also are you running the bootcamp lessons from the game's command screen, via the 'Boot Camp' button? If you moved the bootcamp lessons to another folder by hand and the...

Re: remain in
Your opponent may not be watching their Close Combat screen, and not see the confirmation dialog they need to click. Or there could be a network problem where they never receive the message that you're asking to host a game. The "Connecting" state should time out after about 1 minute. Steve
