I'm having the same issue, although mine seems to be tied to the defeat of an enemy AI.

The file folder is in my security software exceptions list, so that should not be the issue.

I've updated my drivers and done everything I can think of.

Also Sassanid Persian (591-628 AD) has a unit called "Dailamitische Gardisten" in my German language version. That would be something like "Daylamites Guard". But it is not listed as new unit type in the DLC description. It was a late addition and did not make it into the blurb....

I am very excited as this is one of my favorite historic periods and it is usually much neglected by the world at large.

My only disappointment is that if the timeline had been moved back just a few decades, the larger Aramean states (Aram-Damascus, Hamath, etc.) could have been added as well.
