The airfield plays a role, I did the test because that’s what misled me. Indeed, by not placing the enemy aircraft next to the aerodrome, it is easy to realize that the Magnetron Radar plays no role for aircraft.

There is no 1946 mod but there is an official 1946 DLC.

You're right, the Magnetron Radar does nothing to aircraft
The position of the enemy aircraft was visible because it was positioned next to the aerodrome.

This file can be opened in a text editor but it can't be actually edited that way. I tried; the game crashes upon loading. The temporary solution seems to be to replace each number with a space, respecting the space between 17h and 12: "17h 12" but not 100% sure, it's just a cosmetic bug.
