Re: Erik's campaigns

I've managed to work my way through to the Rabaul Scenario. Fortunately no other scenario has been as painful as Rainbow so far, as the computer seems to finish it's turn in a few minutes. Just one question about Rabaul. The first 3 transports moved immediately into the port, no problem. However, th...

Re: US Navy Campaign 3.1

US Navy Campaign 3.1 Added new (hypothetical) scenario, Rainbow-5. <snip> Note that several of these scenarios, especially the later ones, are quite large (both map and number of units). I have already removed abut 1/2 of all historical destroyers and light cruisers. The AI will take some time fini...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

In Kota Bharu, is that supposed to be a naval exit point in the lower right corner of the map? My navy was being overwhelmed so I made a dash for that marker but my ships didn't exit the map and were completely annihilated.

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Just got around to playing the updated Task Force Z. It's still one intense scenario, and I really like that Erik made all your forces as core units. Normally I hate losing core units and it is enough for me to do a reload or replay of an entire scenario. But in this case there just isn't any way ar...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

I'll also attach the replay, if interested. Thanks Gabe, I have never seen a replay before, that was very interesting. It was also very illuminating as I was wondering were you got the extra 4 CPs from, so investigating further I just learned that there are specialization points to spend from the b...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

My last attempt at Gin Drinkers failed only because Ma Tau Kok fell to the Japanese on turn 21 and it didn't give me credit for holding for 20 turns. I used delaying actions starting in the Tin Sam and Kau Pa Kang areas with my core units and all the artillery. All other non core units were sacrific...

Bobster, aren't you getting drunk by playing that scenario too often? ;)

Despite the scenario name, I'm usually drinking a Guinness while playing.

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Went back to Gin Drinkers again, and again, and... This is now officially the one scenario I have replayed the most of any game ever. :-) I swear I previously succeeded holding Shing Mun just to the start of turn 7 but now it seams that it must be till the end of turn 7. Even using 3 units to defend...

Re: Erik's campaigns

In my ongoing quest to play through all of your campaigns, I have been working on Afriaka Korp the past couple of days. I encountered no problems until Dash to the Wire where the Primary Objective to destroy the Fuel Dumps never completed, even though the same Secondary Objective did. The result was...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

With yesterday's update I see that the map for Gin Drinkers is smaller. That makes sense since the Japanese units on the eastern side of the map never accomplished anything important. However, there are now 2 fox holes in the reserve unit list that can not be placed, these should just be deleted. Mo...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Ok, gave this another go. In Gin Drinkers, tried several times but couldn't repeat my one time successful defense of Shing Mun. I have only used one ground unit to try to slow the Japanese down and am wary to use another as I'm afraid of how weak that would leave me elsewhere. All units trying to de...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Quick Question.

When importing a German core into one of the later campaign, is there a way to get rid of the Naval commanders? They take up all my screen real estate when trying to select an air or ground commander.

Re: US Navy Campaign 2.1

US Navy Campaign 2.1 Coral: Random placement of Jap naval groups Jap carrier withdrawal if things go bad Dialed down Jap aggression levels I plan to give the rest of the scenarios the same treatment. Link updated in first post. I've just played up to Coral Sea but the objective to prevent any Japan...

Re: Forgotten Army 1.0

First: Thank you for the fast reaction! Second: The fixing of the mission objectives works. Third: But especially in the Gin-Drinker-Mission it seems to be impossible to get the goal without cheating! There is much more money (More Income and more start money) needed, if anyone would have a chance,...

Re: Erik's campaigns

I gave Forgotten Army a try. In Gin Drinkers Line, all of the reward units for holding the objectives are available from the start. All Primary Objectives have check marks as "completed" from the start except Kowloon and this doesn't change by the end of the scenario. Although I did manage to evacua...

Re: Erik's campaigns

I've made my way to Kiev 43. I knew I wouldn't be able to prevent the loss of a Romanian or Auxiliary unit but I was surprised when the notice came up that I had also failed the "Do not lose any Luftwaffe units" Secondary Objective on the very first turn even though no units were lost. I verified it...

Re: Erik's campaigns

That is odd, my Zhitomir scenario looks ok. Are you sure you restarted the scenario after reloading the old save? Yes, I did restart the scenario from a save. But I often save during the deployment phase so maybe that's the issue? ... Ok, I just loaded it as a single scenario and there was just the...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Downloaded the East 41-42 v2.3 update. Went back to check the Zhitomir scenario and found a new minor issue. I don't know how to post an image but the list of objectives now looks like:

Capture all 6 objectives
objective _2_1
objective _2_2
objective _2_3
objective _2_4

When it rains it pours... :)

Re: Erik's campaigns

Thanks Bru, I had never looked at the editor before but gave it a try and changed the value in the field that you marked to ">1". Zhitomir was then shown as a completed objective in a new play through. Now what puzzles me is that you are given the Kiev objective only after the final Primary Objectiv...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Hello Erik, Really enjoyed your Germany West 39-40 Campaign. I'm now playing through Germany East 41-42 and have a problem with the Zhitomir scenario. The first attempt wast a Draw, and even though I held all Primary Objectives, Zhitomir remained a question mark. Since I did not achieve the Secondar...
