It's not the peltast, peltast have it's model in the fog2,with helmet, pelta and javalins, and it's armor stage is "protected". Open the fog2 and see the greek army lists, then you'll know what's the peltast looks like.

Re: Where to hire thracian and greek peltasts?(massed and skirmisher)

Dacia was populated with a mix of Thracian,Ionian and other tribes so native Thracian skirmishers would have been used. Also Thracian Mercenaries as you know were widely travelled. Did you ever see the thracian spearmen unit when export?I didn't see and don't know how to hire them now. Sorry I don'...

Re: Where to hire thracian and greek peltasts?(massed and skirmisher)

If you play as Dacia you have recruitable superior Thracian skirmishers with the correct building and start with 3 units of them for info. I am just trying out Dacia now which is now I know. Thracia, not the Dacia, how could Dacia hire the Thracian peltasts? Dacia was populated with a mix of Thracian...

Re: Where to hire thracian and greek peltasts?(massed and skirmisher)

I do not understand The Peltastes (originating in Thrace) are Skirmisher Why can not they attack from a distance? Because "massed" peltasts(both greek and thracian)act as medium foot in the fog2.But skirmisher peltasts can attack from distance I understand But at FOG 2 can not we have --- one mediu...

Re: Where to hire thracian and greek peltasts?(massed and skirmisher)

but you can recruit more generic skirmishers (I guess come across as javelin armed LI)? Seems it doesn't works, let's wait the devs,to see what will they say. Re: Where to hire thracian and greek peltasts?(massed and skirmisher)

you certainly can get the Thracian provincial unit if you hold the thrace Province - I've done this a number of times. If I recall it translates to FoG2 as a thracian peltast with rhompaia (forgive my spelling of this). best to let someone who really knows FoG2 reply to the second bit but I believe...

Some units are only available with higher level buildings.

Could that be the reason?

Where to hire thracian and greek peltasts?(massed and skirmisher)

I checked the province units of the greek and thracian provinces, but I didn't find the skirmish or massed peltasts,is there some thing wrong with the game or just I didn't find it.But I think it was not my mistake because I tried to play each nations who owned those provinces but still can't hire th...

Re: Why did the Greek-style mercenary infantry export in Fog2 as thureophoroi?

Is there something wrong?they should be the mercenary hoplites when export in the fog2 I think, and in some fog2's army lists they do have around 310bc and post times. See http://lukeuedasarson.com/Iphikrates1.html http://lukeuedasarson.com/Iphikrates2.html Ueda-Sarson's interpretation, which we bel...

Re: Why no Tours/Poitiers?

We were limited on the number of Epic Battles we could include, and we were trying to show off as many of the new armies as possible. Tours/Poitiers did not make the cut. Why did the game's new dlcs need to limited on the numbers of epic battles?Didn't more epic battles like in the based game and l...

Re: Problems of units' moving animation and moving sounds

On further examination we find that these mismatches are largely deliberate, to get what we felt was the right overall feeling for the unit. The march sounds sound too "regular" for some units, even though they use the March animation. Hence the jog sounds were used instead. Note also that the unit...

Re: Problems of units' moving animation and moving sounds

I think Dux was querying the sounds rather than the animations. He said some units play the march sound, but others have running sounds. I can't say I have noticed this myself, but I usually play with the sound quite low. Infact Paul, the thing what I queried was some units did use the march animati...

Re: Problems of units' moving animation and moving sounds

The [March] and [Jog] animations are part of the animation set created by the animator, but are not directly used by any units. All units use the [Move] animation - for some units, mostly heavy spearmen and pikes, this is a clone of the [March] animation, for most it is a clone of the [Jog] animati...

Problems of units' moving animation and moving sounds

I found a problem or an interesting thing(?) these days after I bought the Dlc Wolves at the Gate. Some units' use the march moving animations, like skoutatoi, muslim spear men etc,and they're using the normal marching sounds(files MRI_MARCH_Av2 to Dv3 in the game's data),that's right. But,I found some ...

I´d prefer a Byzantine flag that reflects their Christianity rather than Roman-ness Would feel more accurate.
True,also,late romans should have that.

Re: Is the byzantine army still using this flag?

No,I don't use any mods, this will only happened when you 're facing the late roman or byzantine army as enemy. You can try to play the sassanid army facing the post 284ad roman army or play the islamic arabs facing the byzantines. Just to correct you slightly there Dux, I am certain that a late Roma...
