Re: Very Enjoyable Game

Thanks! And sorry for the delay in posting a response. Once I get my "unified" login name straightened out I'll check here more often. :D

Re: New game - same engine

First of all, I am terribly sorry that it has taken me so long to post a reply. Yes, as you so keenly observed, weeks have stretched into months. I am not quite ready to post any prototypes but we're getting closer. The graphics work is moving along but progress has been unexpectedly slow. :s...

Re: New game - same engine

Yes, it is. I have engaged an artist after much searching. I don't have anything to post publicly - yet - but I hope to do so in 4-6 weeks. The large scale of the game makes the main strategy map a big project for the artist so it's hard to be precise.

How about changing it so you reduce the commands by one, but say that Hannibal activates for free? That's not a bad suggestion, but I am concerned that it might confuse some players. I am leaning towards the elimination of the rule as the simplest solution. I'll have to think about this a bit. I do...

So, really, you are getting a certain number of assignable Commands plus an extra one for Hannibal. And therefore one must be reserved for Hannibal since - in a sense - he creates the resources f...

First off, I want to congratulate you on finding a soft spot in the AI. You're right about the move to Spain. I am working on a patch to bring the game to version 1.0.3 and I'll try to add something that will work around this. Now, you seem to be using the "Standard First Move" option. Tha...

I find that a game typically takes me about 3-4 hours. Some games are shorter if I win or lose  quickly.

Hi "Mago" Thanks for your interest. You make a number of good points. But I don't think that I am going to make any changes of this sort to the game right now. I will try to justify this decision: 1) You're right that most of Rome's allied manpower did not come from Latin communities. And ...

You can get a general sense of how many recruits are available in a province by right clicking on it and then using the "Advanced Details" button in the report dialog.
