Re: Vidéo for Youtube ? OBS doen t ok ??? why ?

Haven't tested myself, but one quick solution would be to try screen-capture instead of app-capture.
Not ideal, but it usually works.

Re: Mistakes, Obligations, & Ethics in MP

Just play and have fun. I'd agree. I mean, granted, having an opponent camp out in a corner because he has nothing but LF and missile-troops is admittedly a pain. On the other hand, I can't really fault anybody for playing to their strengths. Besides, with the possible exception of tournaments, mos...

Re: Will FOG2 be harder to master than FOG1?

I think this game will be harder to "master" Its harder to flank/ get in the rear, and when you do its not necessarily devastating. FOG1 with the dice rolls allowed you to often get decisive swings of fortune on the local level where you could immediately capitalize on , especially with t...

Bump, I suppose.
Server seems to be down again.

EDIT: Added logfile.
EDIT: Actually, strike the above. Think some of my filtering software interfered with the upload. Seems to be working now.

Re: Vietnam ’65 Announced and in Beta!

Speaking of the RPS article, I do believe he has a point re. the artwork for the PC version. It's one thing to use 3D art for an iOS version, but to entice the somewhat more hardcore PC users, some sort of pseudo-'cardboard-counter' graphics might not be an entirely bad idea. If for no other reason ...

Re: Oddest Combat Result Ever!

"You could double the number of dice in FoG and then use them in pairs instead. That is, a 4-dice attack would become a 4x2-dice attack. Now you've got a bell-curve with an expected result of 7, and decreasing chances of results on either end of the 2-12 scale." But if you roll a 7 do you...

Re: Oddest Combat Result Ever!

... BTW can anyone answer me this riddle of statistics? If double( or more) of the amt of dice a rolled, would the end result average out to more of a bell curve? ( I cant apply this to fog as when each attacker/defender rolls its dice , Winning/Losing/Draw is a comparative , not a direct correlati...

Re: Worth the Digital Download Price

Fast-playing, and fun in their own right, but don't think you'll be getting a grognard sim. Whilst this may be true what are the alternatives? Are there any grognard computer sim medieval games out there? For medieval, no. For ancients, there's the HPS series. Horrible interface, and questionable A...

Re: Worth the Digital Download Price

Hello all! I've been searching for something like Field of Glory for some time! Graphics certainly aren't a huge attraction for me. As long as a deep tactical ruleset exists and that believably is capable of depicting ancient/dark age/medieval field warfare then you'll have a very happy customer. I...

CTGW and the SysTray Tool

Two things: 1) Any plans to upgrade the tool to incorporate CTGW as well? Right now it only shows my WitE games, and presumably both games are running on the same PBEM+ servers? 2) Any possibility of the Tool interfering with uploading CTW games? Just had the game crash on me (appcrash in ctgw.exe) ...

Re: Commander Sequel - out now!

.... Check it out. I am not a WWI fan and have never played a game in the period as it never interested me but this game really took me by surprise and works so well you really do need to check it out. +1. I've never really gotten WWI either, and this game is quite frankly far simpler than what I u...

Re: Why not SoG (Sea of Glory)?

At any rate, is there a huge hole to be filled here? I mean, the Peloponesian War, yes obviously. But aside from that? I'm surprised that a Dane could ask a question like that, Lars! The Viking fleets were famous and you could make some wonderful scenarios featuring them (e.g. Western Isles)....

Re: Why not SoG (Sea of Glory)?

One of the reasons there are so few naval wargames out there is because there's a fairly limited interest in them, so I doubt it would pass the bean-counters. Not to mention that it's a bit of a bastard to design a decent AI for them (or at least so I'm told)....... Probably because the situation is...

Re: Unit cost imbalance (especially light horse)?

I have failed to have any success with shooting armies at all. Especially light cavalry. Is there a good tactic to using shooty armies, either Medium foot with bow or medium cavalry with bow? Patience, patience and patience. :D It'll take a lot of turns where you seem to do very little impact, but ...

Re: Done With This Game

Oops, my bad if Im putting words in your mouth . No worries. I did allude to it earlier, but I was merely pointing out that removing the randomness from the casualty-generation would silence the people that think the winner can take higher casualties. At any rate, I've certainly been accused of wor...

Re: Done With This Game

Lars, I think most people would say that YES, the winner should take less causalties, and i think history shows in battles, both macro and mirco that is the case more often than not. BTW, why do people insist on saying that in the current system, the winner can take higher casualtes than the loser?...
