Re: FoG:R Update - an update

And didn’t Earlird just give away BP for free in pdf ? Doesn’t suggest it’s a money spinner right now either.... Probably because Warlord have just announced they’re about to release Black Powder 2 and are thus hoping if you liked the free PDF then you’ll buy the shiny new book with the updated rul...

Re: Britcon 2018

Maybe we shouldn’t have changed the rules and points so much! Without a new book (now not viable) and obsolete Army List books, you can’t attract new players and the rule and list changes have split the existing small player base, many of whom have moved to other (non Renaissance) rules. Shame as th...

As long as terrain complies to the minimum and maximum sizes, it doesn’t matter what shape they are however irregular that may be!

Re: Campaign 2018

Another great weekend of hard fought Renaissance gaming in the Thirty Years Wars saw Ben Jones's Early TYW Swedes emerge victorious and unbeaten at the topr of the table. Well done too to Dene Green for leading a Later Tercio army to 2nd spot. Bob Medcraft's dice fought hard and successfully and eas...

Re: Parameters of "Last Phase"?

No it’s not started. I would say you would have to have physically done or said something to move to the next phase.

Re: Parameters of "Last Phase"?

I would have agreed with your opponent. "Last phase" actually means "Finish the phase you are on" If you hadn't started the next phase then you are not "on" it so then you finish at that point. The next phase is immaterial. It is used to keep games to time in a competit...

Re: charging along a road

As long as it is a legal move and a legal charge (ie. must be straight ahead with no wheels and along the road all the way) then I see no reason why such a charge would not be allowed. So yes - it is legal!

Re: Death of Generals

Hi David, I think the point you are looking for is the last bullet on p69 about Movement of Commanders. In your example if he survived the 10+ roll and the BG he was with was wiped out still in contact with the enemy, then if there is a friendly BG within his normal move distance then he moves there...

Three other options:- 1. The Challenge run at UK Games Expo on 2nd and 3rd June very close to Birmingham airport. Not a normal trade show but masses of content 2. Britcon run at Manchester University between 10th- 12th August - 6 games over Friday Evening, Saturday (3 games) and Sunday with cheap on...

Re: Page 119 diagram. Errata?

The horse BG does only fight with 3 dice as covered in the commentary in the box within the diagram. Overlaps only get 1 dice as per point 4 in the Melee Phase Dice chart on p119!

Re: LAST CALL FOR FEEDBACK

Nik, Sorry for being so late raising this one but I thing a clarification is needed in respect moving rear rank bases to another rear rank position in a battle group. The issue has come up on a couple of occasions in the past. It was raised at Warfare when I tried to move a rear rank base from an o...

Re: Clarifications and Errata

A couple of clarifications that RBS gave a while back:- 1. Troops and artillery could shoot over enemy troops in fields/villages which cannot be seen by the firing BG. 2. Impassible terrain can either be mountain which hamper vision or lakes which don't. The terrain pieces which incorporate both mus...

Re: Bows

Well I am in the camp that says we're messing with something that wasn't broken and has really changed the interaction of in-period and theme games especially between bows and gendarmes and bows and warriors - especially armoured Samurai ones. What we must acknowledge is that bows outranged firearms...
