Random Damage ?

I admit I have limited WH40K knowledge but it seems the damage from units is completely random. I was playing a multiplayer game and had a large knight unit. I checked what the expected damage was if I shot the enemy's tank with it and it said "Very High". I let 'er rip with two shots for a total of...

Re: Replay option

@Pip I have to disagree with your assumption that most people would never use the replay option. I think that most players WOULD use it, especially when first playing, to see where they made errors in their gameplay. Many players give up on a game if they can't get their head around the basic princi...

Replay option

It would be nice to replay either a single player or multiplayer game with access to the battle data that you have while actually playing the game. I asked about this when the game first came out and was told that it was on the developers wish list but that it would be a lot of work to create the op...

Re: March mode

I don't think this idea would hurt deployment at all since the idea of march mode would be to travel to locations that would be out of reach no matter how troops are deployed. By using a turn to move in and out of march mode, the break even point becomes four turns with the march mode advantage not ...

March mode

I noticed on a lot of maps that there are features, such as gaps between mountains, that would allow surprise flank movements but the distance is too great. What's even worse is when you play against someone who decides to turtle at the back of a large map and it takes most of the game moves to move...

dismountable in combat

I was a bit disappointed when I saw that the dismountable option could only be used during setup and not in actual combat. In a sense, this is no different than offering two separate units; one cavalry & one infantry.
Are there any thoughts of allowing units to dismount during combat?

Re: Computer crashes in MP - should we have a thread?

If you get flagged, just contact tech support and they will take care of it. I won't waste the time going into details but I had my account flagged, so I contacted tech support to explain it, and they told me not to worry about it. From what they told me it has to REALLY flagrant before they do anyt...

Re: Direct MP?

All armies and all size/type maps ? Sounds great!! No turn limit may be problematic. I suppose you could always just quit the game if your opponent got antsy and stepped out to get a sandwich during the game. Still. a turn time limit may be what's needed to keep everyone in their seats. I have a bad...

Re: Direct MP?

Any hints as to what parameters you plan on using such as time limits per turn or troop/map restrictions?

He can and he did. It isn't an in game downloaded mod. I'll send you a PM on it - I probably should have in the first place.

Anti cheating system - mods

I read on some other posts that some players are concerned about cheating by using the task manager to stop a multiplayer game so it can be reloaded then replayed for hopefully better results. Although it seems to me to be a tiresome exercise, some may be so motivated to win that this would be a via...

Re: Buff for heavy weapons ?

Is the armor advantage really enough or should Heavy Weapons get a higher POA bonus than spearmen? I just think Heavy Weapon units should be marginally better than Thureophoroi type units which they presently are not. Maybe bump it up +50 or =25 from what it presently is. @MikeC_81 Excellent point -...

Can a General die in a winning melee?

The manual says that a General's death is "more likely to happen" when the unit loses the melee but the odds are never really defined. I assume that the chance is less when the melee is a draw but what about when when the melee is a clear win ? I was reading the "Ignominious General Deaths" thread b...

Rough ground on middle eastern maps not clear

I was recently playing a game on a Middle East Hilly map & my foe mentioned how tough it is to tell rough from smooth ground on those maps which I agree. It reminded me that there was quite a discussion on this forum about those map features under one of the tournament threads but the thread seems t...

Buff for heavy weapons ?

When I first tried "Heavy Weapon" units, I was surprised that they didn't get any more of a bonus than units with spears. Essentially, Thureophoroi, Falxmen, and Thracians have ABOUT the same value in combat. I would think units using a Falx or a Rhomphaia would have a bit more punch than spearmen. ...

Re: Remove the Head in Multiplayer

@Kabill
EXCELLENT work !!

I looked at your post on the modding section & you said there were some problems. What is the status of the mod now?

Thanks for the huge effort.

Re: Remove the Head in Multiplayer

@Kabill Thanks for the comments. I agree that it wouldn't fare well in a "proper" competitive setting; only that it would be an improvement over what is presently there. The mod is a good idea if it is possible. I don't know much about modding and I didn't think the changes I was talking about could...
