Diplomacy vs AI and Humans
Diplomacy vs Humans and the AI are so different. An idea that humans can only influence the % instead of total control. Half or double the % would be enough Human control. Asking for peace can now bluntly be refused.

Must be a brave scout, not retreating behind the safety of the walls. Are you sure you have to be outside the city to do your scouting ?

Re: Joining the army on the march
For that we need a flexible waiting order. So you can wait till the reinforcements have merged and after that start advancing into enemy territory.

Re: Idle, should players be auto kicked from the game?
Replacing idle and dead leaders with random players and commands sounds great. Get a command you don't like, surrender and try again. Wiped out, return for revenge. Civil wars can get players as leaders too.

Keep idle players in the game, perhaps they return.

Re: Old and fat armies.
This is what manpower upkeep is supposed to be, the abstract rotation of soldiers when they have finished their terms. At least, if you play on Experienced difficulty or higher, veterans troops cost more to upkeep. Pocus, you name it yourself. It's abstract, if the rotation of a 20 unit strong army...

Re: Missing supply wagons, also navy supply is problematic
For pirates that's ok. That's their speciality. I only asked that normal ships should be able to sustain themselves if they successfully raid. If you plunder and burn down a coastal village you'll likely remember to grab some food and load fresh water. grab that fool and let the whip remind him to ...

Re: SUGGESTION: Gaming Mountain Attacks
Using a bigger army you can replace troops that get hits by fresh ones. Most heavy troops are clumsy and so do not fight well in Mountains.

Old and fat armies.
We all like to upgrade our armies to become battle hardened veterans. The downside should be present too, soldiers that become old and fat. Losing effectiviness over time. Killer stacks keeping their sharp punching power for more than a decade should be rare. So I suggest armies get an age and that ...

Re: Effect of dead leader or new government
Well I don't recall a historic event where a nation achieved peace in an ongoing war specifically because their ruler died (only defeat). On the other hand, many wars started against a nation immediately after their ruler died, because usually the new ruler/government has a weaker hold over its nat...

Effect of dead leader or new government
It would have effect on diplomatic relations when a leader dies or a new government replaces the old one. For better or for worse. Allies can claim they are the new leader and war errupts or accept becoming a client, this too can work two ways. War can stop because the fight was never against the pe...

Re: Another nation takes region while I'm battling defending army
As a defender it would be fun to see two invading armies fight each other first. The battered winner can after that try to defeat the Original defender. At this moment going into a neutral region with several armies is a black box situation.

None of them have Legions. A legitimate question though, why don't all heavier units suffer this spiraling expense ?desertedfox wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 3:36 pm Why do Roman legions suffer from spiralling costs but none of the other major nation suffer the same penalty?

A number of things to try + run in Windowed mode, this will look identical but can behave better with older drivers. + hit SHIFT+Q to see the framerate top left. If it is above 100 then it could be that the timer is being interfered with (sometimes happens with power saving motherboards). You can t...

The trouble was not there before, but do you have a tip, so the card does use less heat ? The computer does feel warm indeed.pipfromslitherine wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 8:36 pm Is it possible that the card is overheating? That could cause the behaviour you are seeing.

I have this problem too, can watch YouTube all the time I want, but Empires let's me play only limited timeframe. Played 1000 hours before without trouble though. A bad thing is all moves are lost when VGA signal makes screen black and power has to be cut to make a restart. OOh boy this sounds like ...

Re: Determining who enters what region.
If being the attacker gives a higher bonus compared to defending perhaps there should be a possible order to make your army wait till the enemy enters your region and just then unleash hell. Two armies in the open next to each other now have to move back a region hoping that other army enters the re...
