Re: Campaign editor problems

I have no idea what happened, but this morning I decided to try to create a new campaign one more time and it worked. Tried it last night and failed. Maybe there was an upload/update from Steam last night but I didn't see anything about it. Still running v 7.1.8, only now the Campaign Editor works. ...

Can't start new campaigns

Tech Support, I cannot start new campaigns or rename old campaigns to start a new campaign. Here's what I have done so far to troubleshoot -- I deleted the contents of the Artistocrats registry and reinstalled OoB from Steam. Several times. Registry is clean and game installed okay. Plays fine excep...

Re: Does simulating history matter in OOB?

I must say that this was a thoroughly enjoyable discussion! It took me through a nice stogie and two IPAs. I lean towards RTeam perspective and must say I thoroughly, respectfully, disagree with Kondi's statement that OoB is less suitable for regimental level play! I think it's quite suitable and re...

Re: Campaign editor problems

No Joy Yet: I deleted the contents of the Artistocrats registry and reinstalled OoB from Steam. Several times. Registry is clean and game installed okay. Plays fine except for Multiplayer, which is a different issue of course (v 8.0.4). Then I copied one of Erik's campaigns to the Campaign directory...

Same here. Steam updated me to 8.0.4 and multiplayer doesn't work anymore.

Re: Campaign editor problems

Bebro, Erik2;
Thanks -- it all checks out except for the registry cleaning. I'll do that this weekend and then try the campaign import/rename and see if that works. I'll edit this message with a report on how it goes.

thanks again!

Re: DLCs no longer recognized

Thanks, that worked, I have reinstalled it via Steam. But the problems still persist that I needed to troubleshoot. The Campaign Editor: 1) Will not assign a name to any campaign I develop except "name". I can go in the text file and change it but why won't it automatically assign the name I gave it...

Campaign editor problems

I am trying to work through two serious issues with the Campaign Editor: 1) It will not assign a name to any campaign I develop except "name". I can go in the text file and change it but why won't it automatically assign the name I gave it when starting the campaign? 2) The scenarios will not start ...

Re: DLCs no longer recognized

von Paulus,
I am using the Steam one. I'll continue my correspondence with you there. Does the installer Zakblood was talking about not work with Steam?
Anyway, I await your response on the Steam site.

Re: DLCs no longer recognized

Tech Support, here's what happened: I got frustrated because the Campaign Editor would no longer start playing scenarios after I edited the campaign, so I Tried/retried/deleted/retried creating a campaign, using similar names, and eventually, only the word "name" would appear in the start-up menu. T...

Be very careful deleting campaigns!

I'll post this on the tech support forum too but I think it bears at least mentioning here -- if inappropriate, that's why we have our tireless moderators. If you delete a campaign I think it leaves a hidden file somewhere that interferes with naming future campaigns. I got frustrated and retried/de...

Re: Is there a way to get parts of a campaign back after deletion?

Thanks very much Robert. The free install took me all the way up to recovering the files and then wanted $45 to complete the install...

Thanks but I think I should have taken them up on it because now my whole OoB is beshat.

DLCs no longer recognized

I think I need a reinstall!
None of my DLCs work anymore, even though they have been installed for a couple of years except for Eindsieg, which I bought a year or so ago.
What information do you need to assist?

Is there a way to get parts of a campaign back after deletion?

Sorry to bother, but I'm at my wits' end. I deleted a campaign because it wouldn't start at the previous start after I added some more scenarios. I figured I'd just grab the stuff out of the folder and put it into a new folder. Only, when you delete a campaign, it totally deletes it, beyond simple r...

Re: minefields always neutral on map?

Thanks. I understand now.

Maybe that's because AI team 1 is the default static defense?

Not much else mines can do -- except stay put and wait. And blow up when provoked.

Re: Still frustrated with Trigger Timer

Bru, I forgot the part about making sure one selects the correct Turn Start setting. Thank you for the reminder - you pointed it out before now that I am reminded of it, so forgive me for abusing your patience yet again. Nevertheless, it is so the function is so untrustworthy to me that I better lea...

Re: True Japanese & US commanders

I found the one of the GI at Peleliu today - Cdr John Brown doesn't quite get there in terms of terror, grief, and weariness all rolled in to one guy. I found these other OoB stars, too, that should be a bit taken aback by their renderings. May they rest in peace, wherever they may have found it. ma...
