Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Well, I'll be darned if I didn't ace this one (Hong Kong 0.992). As a matter of fact, I rewrote history by defeating the invasion altogether on medium difficulty! Screenshot 1.jpg I concentrated my forces around the Navy Dockyards, and having repelled attempts to take that VP with the support of my ...

Re: Otder of Battle endsig

So what happens then? When you start the game, you see this splash screen first which is self-explanatory: Image0026.jpg This is what I wanted to show you, however: Screenshot 3.jpg The icon with the white star on a green field is "Boot Camp" which comes with the free base game. All the other icons ...

Re: Otder of Battle endsig

Secondly, I am guessing that "It says I NEED Something else to be downloade previously" means you are missing the base game, which is FREE. Endsieg, Sandstorm, etc., are add-ons to the base game and you need the base game installed in order to play them. Here's a quick visual tutorial as to how to g...

Re: Otder of Battle endsig

First things first. When you purchased Endsieg, did you have this "PC" button pressed/highlighted? Because if you clicked "Mac" by mistake, then you got the Mac version downloaded. See if you can go back to the web site and download the PC version instead or use the contact information in your purch...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Before moving on to Hong Kong, I did a brief CSI sweep of Gin Drinkers Line. As Bobster mentioned, the Allied Kai Tak AF, Kowloon Port, and Mau Tau Kok triggers all need to be set to Turn > 20 because as they are now, they do require retention for 21 turns. The Japanese equivalent triggers are fine:...

Re: core advance between scenarios in campaign?

One other thing that we have encountered is the need to include all core factions on the Alliances tab in every scenario going forward. The campaign stops and shows a bizarre strat map if surviving core units from the previous scenario are not allowed to be carried forward to the next one. I think t...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Yes, but you have to look at the zip file that you downloaded to see if it is appended with "0.992": Image0019.jpg When he says: "Task Force Z: 3 Aussie air units Kota Bharu: 1 Aussie air unit" I think he is saying that he provides for 3 Australian air units in Task Force Z which, when carried forwa...

In light of this, I withdraw my comments about gameplay balance. Obviously it can be done.

Re: Local Defense 0 > Static Defense?

So what about Defend Hex? I altered the Threat test accordingly, reassigning Static Defense to Defend Hex 5: Screenshot 5.jpg Then I drove my tank away and the unit made hay while the sun shined: Screenshot 6.jpg Screenshot 7.jpg And that wasn't all. Okay, this is within 5 hexes: Screenshot 9.jpg Bu...

Re: Local Defense 0 > Static Defense?

Your tests (which were great, by the way), proved something else: The unit which was set for Local Defense 1 (upper middle) roamed up to three hexes from its starting point in one turn: Screenshot 25.jpg Which leads me to these conclusions: Local Defense is advisory, not absolute, and is subject to ...

Re: Local Defense 0 > Static Defense?

So here are your AI teams: Screenshot 22.jpg and here is how they are assigned: Screenshot 21.jpg You have four teams assigned to Local Defense 0. Two of them (middle left, upper right) are guarding existing Japanese capture points which probably explains why they don't move, threat or no threat. Th...

Re: Local Defense 0 > Static Defense?

It's interesting to see that there is some randomness involved. I ran each test scenario three times for 15 turns; some things happened (or didn't happen) exactly the same every time but others did not. Notice the different patterns and the occasional shyness of the lower left unit: No Threat : Scre...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

I played it again, just to see if I could at least eke out a Draw. Here's a more practical "Oriental Maginot Line" that a sane commander, upon viewing the situation (and with some forewarning), would draw: Screenshot 4.jpg The object, of course, was to protect Kowloon Port for as long as possible wh...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Gin Drinkers Line, v. 0.922. I always play on medium difficulty, from preference and to judge the balance of scenarios. I played on medium difficulty here. I was quite proud of (barely) achieving the secondary objective of holding Shing Mun Redoubt for 7 turns (which is correct, Bobster; when it say...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

I figure I will take a swig of Gin Drinkers as well. It's a pleasure to be playing instead of sweeping for a change! :) And I found something; there is a discrepancy between objective and description for the evacuation module. The triggers have it correct; when one core unit is killed, or on Turn 20...

Re: CSI Sweep: US Navy Campaign 1941-1946

Coral Sea '46 v. 3.0 (continued) There are a couple of things wrong with this trigger, I believe. 1) Not so important but would be nice to have (yellow highlight): An image to go along with the Event Popup. 2) Very important (red boxes): Enabling the Primary Objective "Protect your main base at Noum...
