Re: GS 2.1 Thoughts

4. The UK is too weak in Egypt.. With no help from the Germans it is possible for the Italians to sweep the UK from Egypt. (albeit against the Allied AI) Where are the Allied reinforcements from India, South Africa and New Zealand? 5. On the other side the UK can quickly destroy the Italians in Lib...

Re: Grand Strategy 2.10 Update Now Available!

To be absolutely clear, do I have to uninstall my current PC version of Grand Strategy (GS 2.00) before installing 2.10?

Re: Quick impressions

Rather than start another first impressions thread, I thought I would add to this one. Hope the OP does not mind. Slowly getting into it, though my immediate thoughts were that it was wasted money. But have persevered as I wanted a lite game to play on the laptop when working away from home. Positiv...

Leutra: Made some small changes to the Spartan generals troop quality. So it should be more balanced. Keith Replayed. Honestly did not see much improvement. I lost 2 BP this time! I think you need to make all those poor quality troops average to make it a decent fight. or (better still) improve the...

Re: Scenario Comments

Meggido - MP - very enjoyable challenge, though weighted too heavily against the Egyptians (presumably to make it a challenging game in SP when playing them). Hastings - MP - ditto. A similar confrontation to Meggido in a way, with the Normans having to beat the Anglo Saxons up a hill. However, the ...

Re: Scenario Comments

Callinicum - MP - well balanced - no issues. Degastan - SP - an enjoyable scenario, but the Dai Raitan horse on their left flank refused to move. I just moved up my javelinmen the whole scenario and slowly knocked them off. I guess it was a terrain issue for the AI. Elephant victory - SP - well bala...

Also spelled wrong in intro.
Also British spelled "Britsh" in many of the units as well as side description.

Bosworth Field Instructions Clarification

1. 2 Stanley Contingents and Northumberland Force have to stay still. I can spot the Stanley Contingents, but not the Northumberland Force. 2. OK, so if I read the rules right, they can only move when the BP hits a certain point agreed by the players. Recommended levels in the instructions would rea...

Scenario Comments

Enjoying the Battlepack immensely. No bugs to date. Couple of scenario comments: Hastings - just brilliant. Nicely balanced. Reasonable challenge in SP when playing Anglo-Saxons. Just toe to toe battling, but you get a real feel for a shield wall in it. Will there be any special rules for Shield Wal...

Re: Favourite Scenario

Arausio is very good. Especailly vs another human. I reckon it is very evenly matched. Not sure if you should play with double moves on though. However the real tough ones vs the computer are Caesar--- Eburones, Trigra... and Agincourt. Romans, Romasn and English respecively playing in neutral. No ...

Re: Revenge of Mars!

Maybe it's a stupid question, but who will be interested in doing this?, and why?, It's not a stupid question at all. Unfortunately it's not one that's being asked enough (i.e. who asks about security when buying their new mobile phone/tablet?); and many companies hide the fact that they've been a ...

just played it SP as Brigantes. Very good, and not a bad challenge for SP.

Favourite Scenario

Its been a long while since this was raised and there have been a lot of new packs and scenarios since then. Recently, I really enjoyed playing Medway as Romans SP. Not very replayable after one or two goes as you figure out what to do, but a bit of a puzzle initially. Any other recommendations for ...

Jonno, I actually like the "cascading loss of cohesion". Simulates panic spreading through an army which I would bet happened quite regularly. Obviously not much fun when it happens to you, but I feel it is realistic.

Yes, they just stay at the back (by the camp in a DAG game), don't they? They need to be much more active as a second rank in the battleline - and the missile units need to maximise their shooting at long range. It was the 1st battle in your Bruce in Ireland campaign which made me post! All those p...

AI controlled Poor Troops

They basically don't do anything, which is not fun when building scenarios. Can they be improved so that they can at least follow better troops into battle?
