Just wanted to point out a typo - 75% losses for pikes should be 25%

Re: Early Middle Ages: winners post your results here

Division A SnuggleBunnies (Abbasid) draws with harveylh (Umayyad) 0-0 We each lined up on hills separated by a stream, flanked by a lake and the edge of the map. Some arrows were shot, some javelins flung, but in the end it was clear that it would be suicidal for either side to commit to a true assa...

Re: Is there any plan on mid medieval, late medieval or even renaissance DLCs?

Oh yes, better graphics would be nice. But the graphics are quite good, and certainly not so bad that they should stop someone with a genuine interest in the period from playing Pike and Shot.

Re: Is there any plan on mid medieval, late medieval or even renaissance DLCs?

The cohesion system was changed in FoG2 to account for the lack of opportunity fire. Also, advancing and firing first can give you some initial disrupts on the enemy, but your men will have the -20% moving and shooting penalty, while any return fire will have +20% for stationary (a difference of 40%...

Re: Fragmented Cavalry Charges

My understanding is that this is a deliberate exception. It was the same in Sengoku Jidai and Pike and Shot.

Re: Is there any plan on mid medieval, late medieval or even renaissance DLCs?

FoG2 will eventually be something like 2500BC-1500AD, so no renaissance. That isn't to say that Pike and Shot 2 is outside the realm of possibility someday, but even if that happened it would be years and years away. You really shouldn't let something as minor as graphics stop you from playing Pike ...

Re: Superior Medium infantry

And they can get stalled out by just a few units of Lancers. Some Lancers to slow their advance, missiles to take advantage of their Lightly Protected armor, and infantry to finish the job. It's certainly a tough army, but combined with its total lack of cavalry, it's hardly unbeatable.

Re: Superior Medium infantry

Why is it that superior medium infantry can beat practically any troop on the board? Jewish Zealots (who were basically armed with a dagger) rout pike blocks more effectively than any troop type. The Samites nearly always defeat Roman legionaries. Meanwhile the roman auxiliary who were better equip...

Re: Non-lancer cavalry tactics

RBS will likely correct me, but it is my understanding that FOG2 is based upon the P&S engine, yet cavalry behave differently in FOG2. As far as I'm concerned, the different types of cavalry in P&S behave exactly as I would expect them to(from what I've read). In FOG2 there is some curious behavior...

Re: Kill List

It's irrelevant in the sense that everything else on the unit card is vital information on how the unit functions and its current status, while a kill count would serve no such functional purpose.

Re: Kill List

I actually would NOT want a feature such as this, for 2 reasons: 1) The emphasis in the game, as historically, is on breaking the enemy's will to fight. Killing the enemy is secondary to causing them to flee. A unit with few kills may have been far more vital to victory than one that inflicted many ...

Group 1 SnuggleBunnies (Syracusan) defeats Barrold713 (Spartan) 55-18 As usual, a far closer game than the score suggests. My left wing was under considerable strain, thanks to Barrold's superiority in skirmishers. In my center, he led a skillful and ferocious assault to take advantage of my backped...
