Re: Oxford events for 2018

Couple of Q's 1] At Badcon Medium and Heavy Artillery had to set up in the first deployment. Is that included in the "rules for the competition will be as used recently at BADCON"? 2] Last year there was extra depth to the deployment zones • light troops will deploy up to 21" and batt...

White out! Managed to get one game in before heading for home. Only took 4.5 hours! Many thanks to Ben for driving around Oxford to find a mode of transport still operating!

Re: Britcon 2017 - 11-13 August

The points costs for weapons capabilities seems to have reverted to the original. For instance mounted sword has doubled back up to 2 points. Is that correct or are we going with the revised points spreadsheet built for Oxford plus the extra 3 items mentioned in the thread (Elephants, Swedish Brigad...

Re: Roll Call 2017

The number of entries for FoG:R for this and Campaign looks to be so low as to make them untenable. I am starting to practice for MeG as I expect FoG:R to be cancelled. In this case will it be possible for me to migrate my existing FoG:R entry for Challenge over to MeG?

Re: Roll Call 2017

Bob It is always interesting to get an insight into how your mind works: scary but interesting. The idea is that you get to choose which one of my two armies you want to play. Essentially I am trying to give myself an excuse for losing against everbody. Izzy is not coming; she has had enough of us f...

Re: Roll Call 2017

I have sent Don two lists; my preferred and a back-up. Hopefully both are legal. As an experiment, and only if Don is happy with the idea, I am willing to bring both sets of troops (Heavy weight commitment!) and let my opponent choose which army (of the two) they would prefer to face. Thought it mig...

Is anybody driving to this from South(ish) London who will have a spare seat that I could scrounge?
I have a commitment on Saturday night and public transport is a bit difficult Sunday morning!

Re: Oxford Round of the Southern League 2017

I think the statement about the cost of Commanded Shot Markers is a little confusing. The costs are the same as Regimental Guns for a marker for Horse but for Determined Horse or Cavaliers they about 50% more (the details are in the chart). I have started making some laminated reference charts for A...

Re: Is it really the rules or is it...

How would a "let's agree a draw as you clearly would be mad to come out and attack my mounted army on this plain, and I'm not assaulting that defensive position in the corner surrounded by terrain that you've dug yourself into" play out? In my opinion you have several possibilities 1] Exc...

Re: Is it really the rules or is it...

A couple of questions for my clarity 1] Are these percentages of APs rather than bases? 2] Is it your intention to round the 10% as we do now or use "at least" or use the actual percentages in the spreadsheet but not for display? As to manipulation of the result: The more complicated and a...

Re: Is it really the rules or is it...

I understand that this looks complicated because to some degree it is! However, the players at the end of game only have to write down 4 numbers; APs lost and bases lost for each player. The umpire has the toughest job of transcribing those numbers into the spreadsheet. To help reduce errors the sam...

Re: Is it really the rules or is it...

The scoring system has a maximum of 100 victory points and is composed of 5 elements:- 1. 60 Victory Points for kills and army size adjustments 2. 10 Victory Points for base survival 3. 10 Victory Points AP kills 4. 10 Victory Points AP preservation 5. 10 Victory Points for breaking enemy army reduc...
