Thanks for the quick reply!

I will look into that.

Re: Some tips for making the game run better on older machines

Probably a long shot, as I'm still on Windows XP, but I would really like to buy FOG II if I was sure it would work on my 11-year old PC (it was a good one at the time, though, and still does all I want it to do - except run certain games). I enjoyed FOG I and I'm sure I would enjoy FOG II even more...

Re: Classical Antiquity: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B Epicouros (later Macedonian) 12/30 beat Greetings44 (later Carthaginians in Africa) 37/34. The Carthaginian heavy infantry held a hill, the medium infantry (scutarii) a wood. My Macedonian pikes were on low, level ground some safe distance away. Between the main blocks, a "wait & bai...

Re: High Middle Ages: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B Epicouros (later Serbian) 27/34 beat Stefano1967 (Low Countries) 33/26. As it didn't seem a good idea to charge headlong into pikemen on a hill, the Serbians went the "attrition by shooting" way, especially as the Low Countries didn't have a lot of missile troops. This provoked the ...

Re: High Middle Ages: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B Epicouros (later Serbians) 16/34 beat Arminius (HYW Continental English) 29/26. The allied German knights were scary, the English foot knights tenacious, and cavalry-charging the English longbowmen behind stakes wasn't an option either. The English didn't have have numbers on their side thoug...

Re: Classical Antiquity: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B

Epicouros (later Macedonians) 26/30 beat mortonj (Gallic later Hill Tribes) 47/46.

A classic pikes vs. warbands battle, in which the Macedonians used a watery flank to neutralize much of the Gaul's numerical advantage. Even then, it was a close call...

Re: Early Middle Ages: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B

Epicouros (Early North African Fatimids) 32/33 beat gazxtrix (Lombards) 46/46 by the narrowest of margins.

Could (should?) have been a draw: both armies destroyed each other's left flanks, and mutually in the centre. In the last few turns, it came down on dice rolls, really. A bloody affair.

Re: Classical Antiquity: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B Epicouros (Later Macedonians) 23/30 beat george123 (Ipsos Alliance Successor) 37/36. Both armies mixed moderate successes and failures on the flanks, and fought one another's phalanxes to breaking point in the centre. This one could have gone either way, but the (dice) gods favoured the Maced...

Re: High Middle Ages: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B

Epicouros (Later Serbians) 16/34 beat gazxtrix (Anglo-Irish) 45/44.

The Serbians were able to break the backbone of the Anglo-Irish main force just before they could start a flanking attack with their Kerns. Killing their general helped, as did the survival of the Serbian general.

Re: High Middle Ages: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B Epicouros (Later Serbian) 17/34 beat voskarp (Medieval Crown of Aragon) 37/37. A swirling and confusing battle, and harder than the score suggests. By the time the Aragonese finally broke, the Serbian shock troops were largely spent themselves. Also, the Serbian general managed to die, which ...

Re: Early Middle Ages: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B Epicouros (Early North African Fatimids) 15/33 beat sirlancelot22 (Ghaznavids) 29/23. Numbers told, especially as the Ghaznavids decided to split up. Their elephants were scary opponents for the Fatimid cavalry (and succeeded in routing the Fatimid general), until they could be ganged up upon...

Re: Early Middle Ages: winner post your result here . . .

Div. B Epicouros (Early North African Fatimids) 26/33 beat ricoual74 (Italian Ostrogoths) 35/33. A very close battle between two very similar armies, both in size and composition: armoured lancers and defensive spears. The main difference was the Fatimid light troops were mainly light horse, while t...

Re: Themed event: winner post your result here . . .

Pool A, Group B, Bouvines Epicouros (French) 45/52 beat Demetrios (Angevin Alliance) 63/58. A bloody affair, with lots of losses and routing on both sides. Luckily, the Angevin army broke shortly before the French army would have collapsed itself. As a consolation prize, the Angevins made off with t...
